I'm having problems with normal browsing of sites on USA servers right now, but no problem accessing the back end. It doesn't seem to be a server side problem.

Anything to do with Vodacom 3g?

Yep international is down for me too nice to know I'm not alone, yesterday it was DNS server issues today only local is available. What is next from Vodacom. I even downloaded the new 3.2 VMC Lite as our forum Vodacom guru had suggested. Problem is when I right click on it in the task bar and click on Launch Client nothing happens so I will never be able to see the dashboard again(unlike VMCLite 2.2.2.1)

This is a wierd one. Sites ping fine. Secure connections run fine. But normal browsing is stuffed.

So it's not DNS. It's like there is a port block.
Comes and goes a bit too. But definitely far more "gone" than "here" if you know what I mean.
Someone's twiddling settings :(

Hooray it's back, I hope it's not something I did becoz I have been fiddling with just about everything. This issue has really screwed me up as I missed a deadline to enter for my CIMA exams because the international connection was down. NOw I have to pay a R3000 late entry fee for f sakes

You might be celebrating too soon. I was up enough for two page loads and back down again.

Something's whacked!
I see you are also in Durban maybe it's a Durban thing
Could be. No-one else has lighted up.
I should be on the Durban North tower (in an attempt to narrow this down).

Ooops spoke too soon it's gone again. At this rate I'm definately headed for MTN

I'm in Umbilo, maybe the other guys are not even getting local that's why they haven't been able to post anything so far

Sitting in Hilton just up the road with the same problem, but even some local sites are inconsistent. Battled to get a speed test to run on Vodacom's own site.

Of course you need signal at your house to get MTN, which I don't. The last four housees I have lived in have all had great Vodacom signal but zero to little from MTN.

OK. This is getting rather frustrating. Collecting email by POP3 is fine too.

It's just html browsing.

To be honest I haven't had a problem with v3g for ages. Kinda picks its moments to play up though.

v3g - do we need to call the help centre or are you guys aware of the problem?

hahaha you are still trying to get hold of him, his connection is probably stuffed too, how's that for karma. He normally responds quickly to these types of thing. And it can't be just the three of us who are having these issues;)

OK. FTP works fine too. The Vodacom speed test is fine.

I'm out of tests to narrow this down. It's just normal browsing that's broken.

Maybe tomorrow guys I'm calling it a day coz this is just too fustrating

Nope, not just the three of you, same here.........Kloof area as well

Yip, same here - Forrest Hills.

I logged a helpdesk ticket - even gave this thread as a reference. Now to wait 24 hours for some bloke from "advanced network services" in Cape Town to troubleshoot......

Have any of you had a vodacom techie from Durbs phone back? Also, what version of Vodaphone Mobile Connect are you using (I'm 9.2.1)?

Lastly, does www.buyrussianbride.com work for you guys? :)
