International Down?

What magic is this!

Now its down again ( mweb uncapped)

What time does that semi-final start? if it starts at 4 pm, then FIFA has stolen all the bandwidth!

I predict that we are ALL going to suffer tonight (all ISPs). Probably from around 7pm to midnight as I cannot see Telkom taking any changes with the bandwidth required for the FIFA links and will want to prevent congestion and due to one of their redundant routes (Seacom) being down.

I foresee a major shedding of services off SAT-3 and SAFE!!!!

story just made the SAFM news

Seacom spokesperson : '........6 to 8 days........dire situation.................'

tell us something we dont know

MWEB better find an alternative then because I paid for uncapped internet not fusking local bandwidth.

As moggie predicts, we all ****d, at least until the SWC is done & dusted. Seacom is down, so mweb borrows from Telkom & we back on line for today. But now Telkom need to satisfy FIFA for the first semi-final, so we all loose out again. The Telkom cannot release bandwidth tomorrow cos of the second semis, still no internets for us. Then the 3rd place playoff on Sat & finals n Sunday. Forget about getting connection on Sunday!, FIFA will want ALL bandwith to ensure feeds in & out of SA remain stable...the most watched sporting event in the world etc..... Remember Seacom will possibly be back only 6 days, Monday. So we screwed, dont even try downloading from now till Monday. :(

Each ISP have their own netblock(s), and the IP address therefore determines which ISP services your connection.

Example: Web Africa has the range 41.185.64.0 - 41.185.255.255. Therefore if your IP is 41.185.89.x then your connection is done by WA. In the cases above, the IP ranges are assigned to MWEB and SAIX respectively.
