International Traffic Down?

omf the guy i called an Ti said it will only be resolved later this afternoon :/

Sooo, Telkom is going the same route as Eskom:

1. Run company into ground till no service delivery.
2. Take all profits as bonusses and do not leave funds to maintain infrastructure.
3. Do not worry as it is only "rich" people that will be affected as "poor" people do not have internet in anycase.

Do you think if we download local stuff now it will affect our international cap?
At least we have mybroadband.

Am down here too - again  this is unbelievable !

I think we should all demand an extra 2gb this month to make up for the downtime

Uncapped, what can I demand? But then I'm not down (yet!)....

Discount?

International via SAIX down, using dsl-cache.saix.net:8080 to surf, that works fine.

I'm all for a discount on the monthly phone bill. I'm not with Telkom's isp and my isp: Web Africa is usually on the button about answering queries and they do it in an impressive time too. I'll have to go down to the net cafe a couple of minutes away from me. the last time i was down, i went over there, their net was working fine and at a faster than usual rate, asked them what service provider they used and they said Telkom  that was the day the Durban link was down so just wondering how they were able to access it.

lol, and it's down again. I had just managed to log into my email.

Telkom has spent all it's money replacing the projector bulbs in it's stupid wall in their NOC so it can't afford to maintain their network.

i remember how it was before ADSL, I've had this for about 1.5 yrs and back with my 56K modem I always had a connection though it was horribly slow as expected and we had to cut the internet when wanting to use the phone. I think the most irritating thing for me was when someone cut the phone while there was a download going on and I didn't have a resume link / download manager option available.

Was a ISDN guinea pig... wife never got a chance to cut my dl's!
