Haven't had a problem yet on my SAIX account. I will try the IS one later

I am on SAIX and International browsing already died last night on my side

Acording to telkom network notice it was down last night but back up at about 1:00.

See Imaginet did not post a network update from saix yet on the website.

Anybody want to call ADSL help line?
I know I dont
Last time I held the whole morning. called back the afternoon and were told that they did not answer theyre phones because "they could not help the customers anyway" since theyre systems was down.....

Maybe this is the harcap:p Telkom was talking about, because of the shared user pool they also cap everyone in that pool.

well I have about 5-7 Gig left on my SAOL 10 Gig account.
Wonder in what pool I fall with them?????

Interesting point hidden in that comment.
Let's say Telkom's "shared pool" carp really exceeds the total pool size by quite a bit. (Work on 1000 users @ 3gb each = 3000gb. Lets say 25th arrives and usage is @ 4500GB). All Telkom need do, is pull the plug on some router somewhere, tell everyone there is a fault, and take 5 days to fix.
Nice and easy way to "control" the shared pool.

All protocols seem to be up except http

Maybe the intl. proxy thats down????

Not only int'l;
The wits site is down too [www.wits.ac.za] (though the wits network is a bit flaky at the best of times....). Some european stuff is up, some down [http://www.dpmms.cam.ac.uk/ is up].

Time to go off and annoy the cat.

[EDIT] Using the SAIX proxy seems to help: cache.saix.net port:8080 all seems ok?]

Think more and more that its a corupt proxy cache since all protocols that cant go through a proxy gets through to intl. sites (my email servers are hosted in USA at a sleek R500 per YEAR for 4Gig HD, 60Gig bandwith per MONTH and 3 domains, unlimited email etc. etc. etc.)

As was mentioned HTTPS works since it cant be cached due to the encryption.

Anybody called the beast yet ?

I still dont want to call them and I urgently need to generate new licence codes for my company from servers in the USA:mad:
