Guys, since yesterday every 15-20 mins my internet connection will drop (not the dsl) or 'forget' to send and receive data. This happens on both my telkom and afrihost account. I have tried a different modem but still the same thing. Even connecting to the WoW servers takes much longer than usual. Any ideas?

Well that sucks, most likely a technician will come in the week. Don't know how that will help now. Cheers guys.

The guys with the 20mins disconnections, please

1. advise if you're using the Kelvin exchange? That would be Woodmead, Wendywood, Buccleuch, Kelvin, Some of Marlboro, Possibly a bit of Wynberg, Gallo Manor and Kyber Rock.

2. Please phone Telkom and lodge a fault, so they get proper focus on this.

Thx.

Indeed, I'm using the same exchange. I have already logged a fault as of this morning. Sod's, and I asked them and they said no the exchange is fine

I'm having the same @$^&ing problem.

We're on Axxess, and live in Buccleuch. I've had to reset my router plenty of times this weekend.

I was about to go past the distributor to swop out my router when I saw this thread!

We're based down in plettenberg bay and also experiencing ADSL issues. Just drops your internet connection, looking at the router logs, it seems to drop and resync at a slower speed and holds for awhile and then the same thing happens. When all runs well it syncs @ 4096 and stays like that for ages. Must be telkom issues :<

if its not the flippin water, or power its the internet connection! they should rename us to NoCleuch! :)

Am experiencing the slow problems in Grahamstown as well! And, to top it all, received an email just now from our service provider telling us that they had "blocked an attachment" we had sent. Nothing porno or anything about that email. Are they allowed to do this?

Hi Gypsy

Sometimes ISPs block certain things automatically, can be even a word that causes this.

Hi Casper - yes, I know, and this is SO irritating. It took me a while to cotton on to the fact that if I typed the word "HI" in the subject matter of an email, Hellkom wouldn't send the message to anyone! (I still haven't worked out quite how or why the word "hi" is blocked by them!) As you will guess, I can operate a computer by trial and error but am a dunce when it comes to analysing anything to do with IT!

Hi, well that worked.
