This study sounds a bit dodgy.
"In the 2002 survey, 30% of Internet addicts were female compared to only 9% in the current survey"
I would check those figures. I would imagine that they were worked on by some non "internet addict" who as a result did not know how to use Excel correctly and has cocked the calculations up!
Internet Addict - Thats like saying saying that anybody who drives a car to work everyday is a car-oholic. Try a more usefull study monkeys.

I also participated in the survey. The questions were somehow "leading" and it's not a surprise that the number of so called addicts is huge. I'm not a psychologist but I'd rather the survey be revisited/conducted by other institutions before it is regarded as conclusive. And besides, what are we trying to accomplish here (excuse my ignorance, I'm in IT)?
