We operate a large number of hotels and want to give our guest internet access. We are looking for a solution that provides billing and bandwidth management. All the sites must be centrally managed. The solution must be able to take credit cards and vouchers. We must be able to define packages, bill on time and on data usage Pre and post paid. Internet Surfing Reporting, Data transfer/Bandwidth reporting, Service based reporting, Organization based reporting User reporting Region/segments wise reporting Invoice reporting. If possible interface with our PMS system so that when the guest register the software must automatically update his internet access. The system must also interface with multiple technologies some of the sites only have vsat or 3g.

Would you be able to give me an estimate of the numbers of users / rooms you have at the hotels? And are wanting to provide internet access via wired, wireless or a combination?

Are you just looking for the gateway / access control systems or the entire setup including wireless access points, wiring to rooms etc? What PMS system are you using? Is it the same at all the hotels?

If you could PM me some more information i could give you a better indication of what you would be looking at. There are a number of industry solutions available, dependent on requirement.

I know of a type of firewall that possibly could do that. It could even be made to suite you unique needs. But as ramar said: more info would be required.

We estimate that there will be about 2000 users most of the hotels are wired and to do the wireless is not a problem we can do that. We will de looking at opera. We have everything in place except a proper gateway access solution that can be deployed throughout the group. We must be able to centrally manage the solution. We have looked at some solutions offered in SA we are willing to source a solution from international suppliers as well

Then i would suggest looking at Pronto Networks solutions - as that does integrate into Micros Opera.
Otherwise Nomadix and Cerebrus are also worth looking at. Or a combination of the above.

If you need further info, drop me a PM.
