Interstellar

Saw it at the Pta IMAX and I'd rate this an 8.5/10.

If you watch it to pick holes in the science, you'll probably waste your money. I saw this for an entertaining experience with few expectations and it delivered the goods in spades.

Don't. It's not real IMAX.

Actually, I'd agree with him. I saw it on IMAX as well. It was great, and worth the extra bit of kosh. I know it's not 'real' IMAX, but it's still better than normal cinemas. I won't see any old movie there, but for this it was absolutely worth it.

'Interstellar' Is a Three-Hour Entertainment Disaster
Christopher Nolan can do better than this lazy nonsense

Awful review, tbh. Guy is a whiny prat that didn't pay attention and seems to be going for the contrarian-at-all-costs angle.

Actually, the inaccuracy of the science appears to be somewhat overblown.

I kinda wish they would have stuck with original story in the script (with Cooper being the one who sent the drone we see in the beginning) rather than the whole bookshelf thing.I also like the fact that they didn't make the TARS humanoid

Watched the movie and it was okay. Not a 'wow movie', although I expected it to be one. Well, power of movie marketing worked here. Now, wonder how Jupiter Ascending will do...

I want to watch it but i hate Mathew McConaughey, that guy can't act for ****.

The science is based on theories by Kip Thorne.

Yes a movie about a smoking hot babe being the queen of Jupiter, yah thats definitely gonna be better than this:P

doubt its gonna be successful, its gone through so many rewrites and editing (mostly to include more scenes with Channing Tatum) and has been pushed back from Dec 2014 to Feb 2015

Eh? He absolutely can act. He's quite excellent, actually.

Have you seen Mud or True Detective? He's great in this, as well.

Your opinion. I have mine, that blank expression with deep Texas accent is just beyond irritating.

Mud was brilliant. Almost missed it but it had a limited release. Most people didn't even notice it.

Mathew McConaughey defintely can act, maybe its his style of acting that doesn't appeal to some people.

Interesting. So they changed from the original script? I was wondering what the point of the drone in the beginning was

Interesting. The IMAX is a bit of a drive for me (coming from JHB), but glad to hear that it isn't a total waste.

Yeah, can't say it's worth driving from JHB. :p

I'm quite glad we got a Cinema Prestige in PTA now, so I don't have to drive to Rosebank for it. :p

About time, too.

Did the IMAX version suffer from the same intermittent, blaringly loud music that I experienced during certain scenes?
