Investec

Then you have exceeded the threshold of tax free income and essentially you have under-declared your income. Thats all you did.

Your income tax return is a self assessment just because the amount is missing from an interest return does not mean you do not declare it...

Will my son declare it who is 4?

Oh I can def see the benefit just the way you explained it initially was a bit off :p

Ok, what was off ? Having 5 accounts purely for tax purposes in the long run to benefit ? How would you explained it in basic wording ... Let me hear

5 accounts is too much effort for 1%. And when it comes to tax savings - and then using family members for it.. yeah no thanks.

A bit of a thread necro since someone liked a post from mine in here today.

Last year December I phoned my banker, he was on leave, which is fine and expected. I phoned the back-up banker, some random person answered, I asked for the banker by name only to find out the back-up banker left the company months ago and the phone number was reassigned. I had a look in my emails if I missed anything, nothing.

Investec didn't actually bother to inform me my back-up left or who replaced her. :cautious:

Not great.

So far I have zero complaints with them. I have not spoken to my banker much this year as I have a lot of other things going on. Was looking to move my bond to them, but have since decided against that.

Don't worry. I left FNB PW a few years ago and I still get emails from them every so often informing me of a change in banker

I'm not sure which is worse. Over communicating or no communication
One of the reasons I left ABSA is because of no communication- and when they did communicate - the responses were often wrong, it was very unpleasant knowing more than the banker about banking.

RE: Investec, I've had that once or twice where the banker changed with no notification - was quite annoying because you email - and get no response. I raised it at the time and haven't had the issue since.

I tend to find the internal banker better than the main banker - so I'd be sad to loose mine.

Sorry for ANOTHER necro.

I'm also considering them at the moment - but mostly for the programmable bank account. Is anybody using it? Will suck if I sign up only for them to stop it.

The rest I hope that they are on-par with FNB. Currently a Private Client (not PW, considered it but didn't feel there was enough benefit).
- I use ebucks and get quite a lot. Does Investec still have the Investec Dividends that they used to have?
- I have a homeloan with FNB as well as a Wesbank account. Assume those will stay there unless Investec offers me a better rate for the bond. I'll probably pay off the car loan (close to doing it)
- I use FNBs money maximiser account, currently get about 7% interest on it.
- I use LoungeKey quite a bit (fly to Europe once or twice a year)
- I have Y accounts for my kids (wife is with ABSA)
- I have Global accounts with some cash in them, but don't mind too much closing these.

Do they have Apple Pay (I'm really in love with it :P )?
