Nope, nothing in changelog. Will prolly take a little more time for Google to update.

Yes it did. Never been too stressed about iOS updates for my iPad Pro or iPhone. When it comes to macOS I normally wait 6 - 8 weeks.
I feel like I’m missing a trick here... if I swipe right and bring up the widgets screen, right at the bottom there is an “edit” button - if I click on that I have a bunch of widgets from 3rd party apps I can add to that screen. Great! Except it seems you can ONLY add them to that screen and not to any of your own pages... The widgets that come up when I click the + are all Apple native ones. Any ideas on how to get third party widgets onto your pages as well?
It's fine it you have a recent phone or iPad.
If you're on an older one (6s or SE) it's usually prudent to wait. Since apple makes it impossible to downgrade to an older release after 2 or so weeks of a new release.
I have an iPad mini that was pretty snappy until I put IOS9 on it, now it is pretty much useless.

Posting this here from the iPhone 12 thread:
Installed, still need to mess around with widgets but 1st thing I did was to install the shortcut & script to allow PiP in the YT App. PiP for YT vids would normally only work via Safari.
I can watch my man Doug & browse MyBB.

In terms of iPad, bit of a let down that the widgets can only be visible on the left side of the screen, but it’s not that big a deal I suppose.
When I added two widgets, and moved one on top of the other, both disappeared and I had to restart my iPad to get it back
Can’t say that either my iPhone or iPad feels any faster, but everything is still running fast and smoothly as before.
If anything, and this is just my humble personal opinion - feel free to differ - is that iOS is starting to feel “cluttered” or complex, with every iteration it loses a bit of the simplicity factor which attracted to me to Apple in the first place.
The best thing about IOS14 is the back tap feature, I simply love it!! Only works on iPhone 8 and up though.

Which would indicate to me that it's better to adopt now while you still have the chance to roll back?

Third party apps need an update to do widgets AIUI, so it's not going to be an immediate process.

Updated my iPad Air 3 and 1st gen iPhone SE, I really don't know how they keep doing it but these devices just keep getting faster and faster, battery life stays the same so far so no complaints there, definitely much better than the iOS 5-8 days for sure. Can't comment to follow up on @ebendl 's post though about gaming performance or load times on the SE since I don't use it to do that.

I based this on some videos I watched comparing IOS13 and 14 on older devices:
If you watch some of it you will see that most of the apps seem to start more or less at the same speed, the games were the most prominent.
The bigger tests would be around battery life and any overheating issues. Those you usually only start seeing after a couple of days.

This is how mine is looking now. I am waiting for Outlook to get widget support and then I’ll rearrange as I definitely need that.
It’s always interesting how Google treats iOS versus their own Android, Google have had this tendency of favouring iOS, I don’t know why, maybe they make more money from iOS users? But it’s something I picked up on many years ago, they seem to go the extra mile to make things work and look better on iOS.
