iOS 14 and WatchOS 7 released.

Disaster with apple watch workouts, not syncing to phone now

Also noticed previous workouts have no maps any more :/
 
Will iOS 14 finally have the ability for app such as OneDrive, Google Photos, and even my Garmin watch to sync and update in the background without opening the respective apps? I have given these apps all permissions and the only way they sync is when I open app . #sucks

My android phone does this for all these apps and more and it's just such a massive convenience that my phone is always up to date and synced.

I absolutely hate iOS for not supporting this and hope something finally changes with iOS 14
 
Whats the feeling on this group: when going from ios13 to 14 do you just upgrade or wipe device clean and install ipsw?

I can't think of a single good reason for a clean install... Unless the whole point is to lose the setting and data stored locally on your phone.

I had multiple devices to update so I downloaded the ipsw but if you've just got the one then there's little point.

Looks like I'm going to have to wipe my device and reinstall - I haven't been able to access the app store in days.

Is your Background App Refresh turned on in General Settings? Not sure if developers are even taking full advantage of that feature if its turned on.

diekeyser's post made me think when the last time I downloaded an ipsw file was... When jailbreaking was still a thing for me so the 4S, maybe the 5S.

You know, the best part of a decade.

Oh yes, I can imagine, I discovered my Series 3 was syncing some photos and music from my phone LOL when doing the update that came before watchOS7, so I managed to clean storage then.

I think Apple put far too little storage in the watches for future updates, I get the feeling the Series 3 will reach EOL next year, in which case I will get the Series 6 when the Series 7 arrives, lol.

I basically deleted every icon that was removable but still couldn't free up enough space.

I'm actually hoping for a fire sale on Series 5 watches

Thats why I bought the cellular version when I bought my S4, they have double the storage of the WiFi model.
