iOS 8.1 Jailbreak Released!

So far so good. I did my usual fail-safe which is backup phone, and do a full restore to latest iOS, jailbreak and then restore from backup.

Busy with the restore part.

What version of iOS were you on previously?

I know restoring from backup is very convenient but I find setting us as new phone has better long term implications re battery life and general performance (although this could purely be psychological as I don't have any concrete evidence).

Yeah, I always marvel at the simplicity of restoring from backup. It's basically a 10 minute process.

Got to hand it to Apple on that one, I've used it countless time when upgrading to new iOS versions and it just works.

I don't use many tweaks, but they all seem to work except purge.

Surprised Apple hasn't incorporated a one stop kill all running apps function yet. They don't deem stopping running apps a priority.

There 2 very different schools of thought re killing running apps and the advantages to be had (or not).

FlipControlCenter is crashing for me.

Haven't tried it myself but it should be working. Compatibility list says partially compatible. Probably one to leave alone for now.

EDIT: That list is from the 23rd I think so woefully outdated in the dynamic world of jailbreaking....

This is a biggie...

So my backup restore came to bite me in the butt. If you restore from backup it reverts certain cydia files which causes a boot hang if you have a passcode. Cydia now has a notice about this when you launch it. Looks like a reinstall after the restore will fix it.

This ccsettings has some nifty toggles including a close background apps toggle and a clear badge toggle...

With the newer recent iOS functionalities, I find no need to jailbreak anymore.
