In that other thread people were saying how Google Play is so much better since it has Metallica...but my Apple Music has Metallica. So was it added later or were those people wrong in the first place?

Metallica been on Play for a while. The Apple Music took a while to get all of their albums on there - the first day there was just a handful.

What sells Google Play to me at the moment is the web interface - trying to play Apple Music at work means using itunes and it's just so slow and useless. I just cannot comprehend using that every day. Also, since I signed up when it started my subscription is 7.99 a month but the only problem is I cannot make it the default player in IOS.

I suspect there might be a rollout of stuff still at play in non-US countries and maybe SA is just playing catchup.

There are things like TOOL which is in the iTunes Store but no in the Streaming service for instance.

But anything that isn't there you'll be able to upload yourself anyway.

Loving it so far I must say, end of piracy for me I will gladly pay. Just wish there was an option to store offline by default as you listen to songs, would same massively on bandwidth.

Dave Matthews Band by example is one I looked at and followed and the selection seemed just fine to me? Granted I didn't do a 1:1 comparison but there was more than I could ever need on the SA store.

For R59 I think the SA offering is a steal.

I checked the Beats 1 radio playlists (you can see a playlist of the previous day's show) and on average the St Vincent Mix Tape and Zane Low shows have 2 songs more than SA.

Probably something we'll hardly ever notice.

Weird, you say took a while....last I checked 24 hours was very quick compared to a while.

I'll admit that I've been an Apple geek forever and therefore have used iTunes as my daily player forever and a day and have no issues with it.

I'm also a big Google services fan though and I find the (free) Google Music interface pretty atrocious.

****

But yes there seems to still be some replication or something happening for Apple Music.

Would love to know where they host it locally, if at all.

Because TOOL doesn't support streaming services.

Five Artists Who Still Say No to Streaming

Tool: Maynard James Keenan’s band doesn’t have a unique reason for staying away from digital music – like many on this list, he doesn’t want his band’s work consumed in random pieces. Unlike most, though, Tool is truly committed. The band’s music isn’t on iTunes or Spotify and it has never allowed its label to split up its songs into a greatest-hits collection. Gotta respect those principles.

Hmmm just double checked and you are quite right it's not on the iTunes Store either.

Fortunately I already own all the albums and therefore can just upload them to my iCloud Music.

I do agree with their principle that their stuff should be listened in "sessions" and not as single songs. But at the same time the logic is silly because if someone buys their album then they'll listen to it anyway they want to.

So the end result is that now I have uploaded my own copy and will listen to it any way that I like...so they ultimately lose.

Also it seems a bit strange that being justification when his other two band's songs are streaming just fine.

All the other artists on that link I'm pretty sure were in my streams already except Garth Brooks I've never heard of.

I see they've gone and relocated Audiobooks to iBooks. Going to be a bit of a schlep switching between apps.

Standard practise for every "free" trial I've ever used.

What's the problem?

I wanted to use Digital Ocean's Linux Action Show promo code to get 2 free months and was asked for credit card details. Even though it's supposed to be free for two months, without credit card details, it's a no go. Seems like common practice asking for payment info in advance.

Definitely common practise yes.

It's a sales pitch not a freebie. Hoping you'll just leave it and stay on after.

Then they would lose most of their sales.

The entire "trial" setup is a sales pitch.

Well not going well according to me.

Using this Apple music for couple days and recommendations is horrible. Hopefully it becomes better the longer I use it.
