I did an OTA, now it just says it has been requested and will inform me when it's ready to install.

Guess they queueing downloads this year so they don't screw up the worlds internet again :D

Hahaha. So true! Glad they are using this request system now, caused a lot of confusion and frustration in the past, not to mention like you say, DDOSing the internet! :p

Mine is coming from 197.84.130.9, a local MWEB server. Looks like they are using their iTunes CDN for updates now, which makes sense, but the erratic speed for the download is then probably something between MWEB and user which is not supposed to be happening.

Mine was coming down at a solid 1.03MB/s on a 10 meg line via Afrihost.

Going better now, that is pretty much my max line speed anyway (webafrica business capped).

Sweet! Thanks! just a warning, DO NOT upgrade to icloud drive yet if you have older devices or a mac that shares your icloud account, wait for yosemite if you want to sync with OSX.

The GM version released a week ago for all the devices is identical to the public version, so if you have upgraded already, there is no need to do it again.

You're welcome :) Good point on the iCloud Drive warning

Precisely. While I cannot MD5 hash every single firmware, I did it for the 5S version and it was identical to the GM hash :)

Worth trying an OTA - or you all running (in)direct and then through iTunes?

Wondering whether to try TI uncapped, or Afrihost capped... Probably the latter? 4mb line...
