Now a days Everybody wants to know which phone and tablet to buy and it all comes down choose between ios and Andriod. In my opinion i think ios is better because firstly it is exclusive to apple. Secondly it was launched before andriod and in a recent study they are more andriod user but ios user are more active. Let Me know what you guys think :):):)

I don't see how something being exclusive to Apple makes it better? And the users on iOS are active in what way? If you mean they spend more money on the App Store, that would make sense, as Apple products are expensive so it's likely they have more money to spend. Also, piracy on Android is very easy and a bit of a mission on iOS.

I prefer Android over iOS for the simple reason that it's much more customisable. I enjoy the selection of launchers, widgets, live wallpapers and keyboards that are beyond the realm of iOS.

To answer the question in OP's thread title, it is possible to make Android closely resemble iOS.

iOs is provided by Apple which are an evil company. You wouldn't like to to support a company who practically throw their employees to their death from high building would you?

^This +1000

Android for the win. I've been on both sides, and have realized there is a reason they call it jailbreak, because with iOS you are literally in a jail.

In this case you should avoid supporting Apple, Dell, HP, Motorola, Nintendo, Nokia, Sony and Foxconn products. Don't know why Apple is the most associated with these suicides (controversies), but both Apple and HP investigated and applied possible solutions to this case.

Although not known suicides throughout the media, but go check on Samsung's conditions in comparison with Foxconn.

Who do we support then?

I was once an Android fan, bought a samsung cell phone that gave constant hassles and froze on the base software, I then rooted and fiddled like the guys enjoy doing but no luck.
Bought a 2nd hand iPad 2 and was hooked with the quality, I had an android tablet that just didn't come close to iPad's quality and the screen was ugly and pixelated.
sold that tablet for R2000.
bought an iPad 3 for retina screen, at the time all other tablet screens paled in comparison.

Regarding the OS war - with my Droid phone and tablet I had issues finding apps that worked for that model phone and it can be frustrating but not the end of the world with the tablet I constantly got incompatible when trying a game etc.

With iOS I'm pretty much sorted as apps fit and WORK perfectly on either iphone5, iPad 2 and iPad 3, just feels they put more effort in the design and its not an issue of too many cooks in the kitchen, droid used to feel fragmented.

I have friends on latest samsung phones and they are damn nice but I'm already too involved in the apple ecosystem to go back to android.

and that's exactly my problem here. the time you were talking about android was still a fairly new OS, and things weren't what they are now. so comparing then and now you can't really do that.

and once apple gets their hooks into you, you can't leave. because then too much changes. no freedom. if i were to move, god forbid, from android to iOS, i'll be fine, because the apps i use, i'll be able to use on iOS as well. But if you start on iOS and you use apple's own iCloud and iMessage and iWhatever, its difficult to change to Android, because now suddenly everything changes, not just the OS.

iOS has exactly the same apps as Android, if non-proprietary-to-Apple is your thing. I use Flickr for pics, Whatsapp for messaging, Google Contacts for contacts syncing, and so forth. Switching back over to Android usually takes me a few hours to setup and I'm off.

I am more of an Android fan but I think I'm going to do this next.

Phone: iPhone 5s. Reasoning: Great build quality, great for making calls, whatsapp and listening to music which is what my phone is for.

Tablet: Samsung Note 10.1 2014: Super powerful, brilliant stylus, Android, great screen for emails, internet and movies.

True, I now have a MacBook Pro :)
Basterds!

I must admit though iPhone, iPads and mac all talk very nicely to each other, still use google cloud BUT have gradually been moving over to iCloud.

the thing that pisses me off most about apple is not giving you enough storage on their devices.
Most tablets these days come with minimum of 32gb apple still on 16gb unless you cough up more moola! for larger version.
32gb should be base these days!

Interesting though, excluding Google Now (which is available to the desktop now), is that the Google Apps on iOS is in some strange reason better, IMO.
