iOS vs Android vs WP

SwiftKey is a real nanny app. I regularly need to teach it my vast array of colourful language. :p
Yes but I expect bucking stock Android to not be an as whole or give me shot when I'm trying to express my frustration.

:D

Haven't really used WP since v7-something. Can't remember its keyboard functionality very well.

I realise you already regret having created this thread, but since nobody said it: the question about which is better is flawed, which is why these debates never go anywhere.

We all have different needs. So it makes no sense to speak in terms of what is better for everyone. It only makes sense to speak in terms of what is better for a certain person under certain circumstances. And that right there is way more complicated than most people would care to discuss in any internet rage war "debate".

I agree. But some people just don't know what's best for them...thats where I come in. ;)

Swiftkey is terrible at swipe recognition. Swype ftw.

(but one-handed mode in Swiftkey is awesome).

I've had quite a bit of success with swiftkey and swipe. Maybe I just don't know what awesome is :)

I keep having to retrain Swiftkey. Swype seems to get it right more often with me. I skew towards very fast, very sloppy swiping style. Much like my real handwriting.

train? i'm not training anything, it just works lol

seriously, train?

Yeah that's why I use Swype :)

Also.. just as a sidenote... the default iOS keyboard is actually awesome apart from its lack of swipe typing. As a tap-style keyboard it's miles better than Swiftkey or stock Android or WP's keyboard. I can touch-type on an iPad screen more or less 60wpm and I can't come close to that on any Android keyboard.

fair comment, havent tried it to be honest.

Swiftkey pisses me off with one thing. Once I click send, I have to take a split second delay before I start typing the next message, otherwise it misses the first couple of touches.

I see you do not have a single clue what security is all about esp when it comes to hacking, both are equally open for abuse or I guess you never heard or played with de-compilers?

Right there in the bit you quote I said they can all be hacked. Just easier to get dodgy app onto an Android phone than it is to get one onto a iPhone or Windows phone.

Also Swiftkey just loses the plot completely sometimes. It will start replacing "and" with "ABS", for example and then I need to reset it, despite the fact that I never even typed the word "ABS".

Using voice recognition on Android I can "write" faster than that.

Swift key and stock android keyboards are terrible, try touchpal.

I don't compose my messages by dictation. But yeah I can imagine, on Dragon Dictate I can get a nearly perfect speech recognition which is faster than any keyboard on earth.

Trying it now thanks.

Maybe it's a PEBKAC error
No it happens with me as well.
