Hi all
All the best for the season, I am unsure under what topic to post this as I do not have privileges to post under the, "Ask my broadband" topic. I have developed for the past few months a specific iot solution for that can fit various sectors. I have developed the device using mainly off the shelf parts the cellphone modem ect are all fcc EC certified. I have developed the software, server backed ect. Now I have what is near a finished product and a client who whants to order quite a bit of them. How do I go about getting this icasa approved. Does it need to be Icasa approved? Considering the simcom modems are already avaliable here through many distributors. If so does anyone know the process to get it registered.

Your assistance is greatly apprichated.

Thanks g

In theory - even if the product has the below certificate, ICASA are going to want you to submit the actual reports that the CE certificate references. So in that example, they'll want you to submit all the EN 301 489 test reports in your application before they approve it. Different products are going to have different reports that they want - so Bluetooth / WiFi / LTE etc will all have their own set of reports which will be requested ... EMC / WiFi / safety / LDV etc

Last I checked, ICASA don't do the FCC standard - which is why we can't get some products as that is all the manufacturer has.

Also bear in mind that if you 'create' a new product from existing, they are probably going to ask you for that specific report - which you won't have as you've 'created' it from others
