IP Camera - Setup Advice Needed

Have a look at the Blue Iris camera software. It costs $50 and you can download a trial version. I haven't used the web features, but it does support dynamic DNS which is I think what you are looking for. Essentially she will go to something like mycousinscamera.dyndns.org which will resolve to her home computer. Then she will type in a user name and password and be able to view the camera.

I have used the Foscam cameras and they work OK. Perfect for indoor but I wouldn't recommend the outdoor models. They are also a bit pricey and you may well find a better system if you look around.

Hi there

I got an ip camera on bidorbuy awhile ago and does exactly what you are looking for. As Russell S mentioned above, you basically register a dns name at http://www.dyndns.org, once you've done that you setup your router to update/login to that dns and update it with your ip address.

The camera then connects to your router and has an ip address assigned to it. The software that comes with the camera helps you set up everything via a wizard, very simple and quiet effective. I can log in and via the camera from my ipad, pc or android phone. :)
