iPad 2 advantages

Actually Elimentals recommends this :p

Now that looks worthwhile - thanks, am trying it out - may just save my iPod Nano 16GB from the dustbin !

Would still prefer not to have to use any weird software (except drivers) to access an iPod/iPad, but I guess that is not going to happens as that was SJ's vision.

But my main gripe is with iTunes, as easily the worst software ever produced.

Since this isn't meant to be a anroid vs apple debate, I'd like to mention one of the big advantages about iPad 2 for me, when compared to the netbook I carry around, is the battery life. 10hrs life without hunting for an electrical outlet is a huge advantage.

I must admit - I've never been an Apple fanboy.
That said - I ordered my iPad (FNB deal) already and the more I read about the iPad and all it can do the more excited I get.

It's almost perfect for what I am going to use it for.

Hurry up FNB :)

Same here, quite keen to get my hands on it and start messing around. Does anyone know what version of iOS the ipad 2's from the FNB deal ship with?

Let's hope part if the reason they are going for so little is the fact that they found some old stock running 4.3.3 and and everyone knows how worthless something is with very old software...

I can only hope it's 4.3.3. Will update to 5 once the untethered jb is available.

The untethered jailbreak ain't the problem, the fact that there is no jailbreak availible for iPads after 4.3.3 is my biggest worry.

Great, now the suspense is REALLY getting to me :D

I'm pretty confident it won't be too long before it's available.

Spoke to someone about it this week, I'm quite stressed that a few devs announced that the untethered is working pre-iOS 5 and now there's nothing, quite a while after the release of iOS 5. Shure hope something gets done soon as there are a few people with iPads above 4.3.3 who don't have the appropriate backups to rollback.

That is one of my 2 biggest fears, if you can no longer do untethered Jailbreaks, and that they check accounts using IP address for Country restrictions.

There is an mp3 file on my mac. I transfer it to the iPod. I play the music/podcast on the ipod.

Now whether the iPod is playing an mp3 file, a converted m4a file, or just filling the air with magic pixie dust is utterly and completely unimportant. I am listening to my music. It works.

Unless you are an iOS dev working on an audio app, how it works is not your problem. Maybe Amazon will get this concept, certainly nobody else connected to Android does.

I upped to ios5 maybe I missed the whole jailbreak thing but I haven't really felt like ahhh no I can't jailbreak!

Yeah me too, it hasn't been an issue. I doubt I will jailbreak this time around.
