Hi apple fans!

I recently got hands on of the iPad 2 from a friend, so was testing it out for him and was trying to download some free apps off the za apple app store, but I am experiencing some problems...

1.iBooks

As soon as you start off app store, it request you if you wish to download the iBooks.
So I clicked on yes, and it started downloading, but all it happens is it enters a loop... After around 35% progress, it starts from the beginning again... And it loops for about 3 to 4 times, then a message pops up saying that download not completed and it says the next time the iPad is connected, it will download from pc and sync it.

2. iTunes

So, after experiencing the problem in point one, I decided to connect it onto the pc and see what happens. So I did, tried downloading from iTunes, the same happens, loops and loops and loops, and then it gives me an error 8008 message, I tried searching online, but the solutions they gave doesn't help at all.

3. Imcompleted downloads

The imcompleted downloads that happened in point one could not be removed, it temporary disappears after the loop ends where they ask you if u wanna click on "done" or "retry", so when you click done, it disappears. Once you start app store again on the iPad, the imcompleted downloads pops up again and the loop goes on again

I even tried using another account on the other regions app store, no luck:cry:

Lot of games doesnt work as well, it just goes into loops and the same thing happens...

Does anyone have the same problem?

It annoying when you can't get anything for the iPad...

Thanks in advance!

I got the same error a few weeks ago, apps and songs etc were downloading to approx 10MB and then resetting to 0% downloaded and then just started again. I setup itunes on another pc and synced my ipad / iphone with that and it immediately identified available downloads. There was no issues with downloading thereafter. I have in the mean time gone back to syncing with the first pc where the download problem first occurred and there has been no problems since. It seems like a random problem that spooks some people and not others. its been 1 week since i havent experienced it and so far so good!

It has happened to be a few times before, most recently last week when I wanted to download Remote. It restarts when the download hits 10mb - same problem on ipad and pc. Many people have experienced this over the years - with no conclusive reason or method to solve yet. In all the cases I just kept trying over a few days and eventually it "took" and downloaded properly.

Had to same thing, logged into itunes store via website, went onto account details and reconfirmed account details, everything working 100% afterwards. I use the US store with US gift vouchers as money.

Similar thread a couple of weeks ago... http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/330196-Itunes-app-download-constantly-starting-over

Mailed Apple and the response was:

"Dear Greg

Hi, this is Carol from the iTunes Store Support. I understand that you have not been able to download some of your iTunes Store purchases. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. I am sure you are anxious to sort this error out, so I will do whatever I can to help you with this right away Greg.

In my experience I have found that this error is generally caused by a download corruption on your local computer system. This error often occurs when downloads are unexpectedly interrupted.

I have removed the item "Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List" from your pending downloads and posted a fresh copy to your iTunes account "*****@gmail.com" to ensure the best chance of successfully downloading this application.

Before you attempt to download the new file, you will need to complete just a few steps to delete some temporary files on your computer.

In the ~My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads folder there will be a folder named "<track name>_<album name>_<artist name>.tmp." or "<movie name>" or "<tv show name>".

Inside of this folder there will be two files, "info.plist" and "download.plist."

Delete both of these files. Once you have completed this process I would like for you to check for purchases to restart the download from the beginning. This should clear up the error.

1) Open iTunes. From the Store menu at the top, choose Check for Available Downloads. You can also click this link to do the same thing:

https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/...ckForPurchases

2) Enter your account name and password, then click the Check button.

I hope this information helps enable you to remove the temporary files and download your purchase Greg. Thank you for your patience and understanding concerning this matter. If you do have any further questions regarding this issue, do not hesitate to email me back, and I will help in any way I can. Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Carol

Download worked fine after that.
