Not until tomorrow ...
But I think most was covered during the 15 pages prior. I'm still getting it - but my friends are worried I turn into an iPerson ...
Well i think you have bought into some of the propaganda and are just rehashing ill considered jibes. Its as juvenile as those who think they are better than others because of the power of their graphics cards.
It depends on what you want from your gear.
Macs put a focus on perfectionism, simplicity, and great design. They focus on the little things, the small details, all aligned to create a computer which is dead easy and yet powerful. I think macs achieve most of those goals, and if thats what a person is looking for then i think they are correct to feel they are sitting in a pound of butter. Beyond that - well its just a tool and really not a reason to feel better than people.
I used to love buying hardware, messing about at anandtech, studying the benchmark minutia for hours on end before buying and then building a fire breathing beast, but now have different interests. I'm into the little things: the idea of beauty, simplicity and efficiency. Other computers can do some stuff better, granted, but it probably won't be as free from hassles, simple, or as beautiful which is why people love their macs so much.
But tbh i don't know if an iPad will convert you. Tablets are still pretty limited devices in some ways. The iPad is a great coffee table content consumption device, thats for sure, but if you want to create content they are all pretty limited. But i know you know that. Enjoy your iPad, it'll be a great netbook replacement.
