iPad 2 here on Friday

Any idea of how the data side will work with the 3G units?

I am impressed that SA cracked the nod so soon

Wow that became officially available soon. Makes me almost consider about my decision going Android route seen as I am still waiting for my Galaxy 10.1v

What about the data? You can get a micro SIM contract or prepaid with a bundle loaded. Or on Vodacom you can get a Data Only SIM which is linked to your contract data bundle so they can both share the same bundles etc.
And there's similar options like "Dual SIM"' from other providers. - But apparently CellC do not support 3G on the iPad.. o.0

Wow, I am so impressed that SA are getting the iPad 2 so soon, and at such incredible pricing! I just feel sorry for all those that bought the original in the last couple of months, although functionally there's not that much difference.

Is Cell C Usb Data Speedstick Compatible with the new iPad2 ?

Smart peeps will now be able to buy iPad 1 for next to nothing and get basically the same thing, sans cameras and Tupperware lid.

I can't believe it! Decided to buy a 16GB wifi only iPad from Incredible Connection last Saturday because I thought that it would be many a month before the iPad 2 came out here. If I could get over feeling guilty about it I would take it back as it's still withinin the 10 day money back period and get the iPad 2 on Friday.

Isn't it ironic that you must plug the iPad into a computer, straight after opening the box? :p

I am happy with my Android Tablet - My Galaxy Tab still doing it for me... Why pay an extra R1200-00 for an embedded 3G...

Yes and no...

1) I am sure if you chop the SIM it will work (iPad 2 is 900Mhz capable)
2) Get a 3G wireless router (netgear, edimax, dovado) and use the Wifi to connect to 3G CellC Speedstick.

Option 2 is also good in future or to use prepaid MTN, Vodacom with iPad 1 or 2...
