iPad 3G Data - Voda 2GB with micro sim??

alright, i know i can't possibly be the only 1 battling to get this....

Have iPad with 3G, want to get the Voda 2GB + 2GB special, with a micro sim (dual data), so that i can share data.

Is this possible?

Has anyone done this successfully?

Can you provide details of someone I can contact at Vodacom to get this sorted out?

The deal is supposed to be for a 3G service for a PC. You get a USB dongle thing and an fulll sized sim. R149 pm for 12 months. What you then do is swap the sim for a micro sim, slip that in your iPad. Happiness.

Any of the Vodacom shops should be able to set it up for you but expect a heap of crap about swapping sims and stock levels etc. Oh, and the price will be a rip. Better to take the full sized sim and get it cut.

You would be able to get a 2nd data micro sim for you ipad. But you wont be able to use both sims concurrently.
I think its called twin call or something...
 
Hi, im currently using my cut sim in my Ipad 2. The only problem is there's no way to check the current data balance, the Vodacom recharge application i used before does not seem to be wprking with the Voda 2G + 2G promo.
 
FWIW For my new iPad 2, I bought a 2 GB per month deal (for 12 months - data only, no modem) with Cell C - works out to a measley R 83.33 per month for 2GB data, in my iPad 2. I cut the SIM down to micro SIM size and it works like a bomb - I'm getting minimum of 8mbps speed on it. The beauty too, is that it's pre-paid, no contract, no worries about them continuing to bill if I forget to cancel the contract ( like Vodacon do ) and no late nite owl downloading at 03.00am to use up the data.

Yeah Cell C 3G works great on iPad 2 but on iPad 1 it only gets EDGE.
