iPad Bricked - REPLACEMENT NEEDED error.

Thus far, AppleCare US (after a 2,5 hour session) want me to pay $19,99 for a once of fix (since it is not under warranty anymore) but the can't guarantee that their fix will work. AppleCare UK have not yet come back to me. It's just very odd when you speak to people at Apple about this fault they sort of go "...er,yes we could perhaps maybe fix that error, once we have established what it is or the cause?...."

anyways, the quest continues.

[EDIT Update] AppleCare UK and AppleCare SA both agree that this is a hardware problem that cannot be fixed. They recommend I take it back to an iStore so they can send an official query to Apple support in the States.

[EDIT] I have now taken to being sad and singing the theme song to Frozen.

Same issue for me I pad was slow and irritating so I deleted and restored it now trying to set it up and waaaaahhh the ****en replacement bull**** comes up

I'd put it into DFU mode, and do a clean reinstall.

Home + Power till it reboots, then let go of power. Should say DFU mode in iTunes.
Restore firmware.

If its still no good, then speak to proper Apple Support (not Core), and tell them you have this issue - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6015571?start=30&tstart=0

If you need to escalate to a different tech, do so, you should get someone to assist.

Sound is ****e, but a rock version of the song might cheer you up :)

Sounds like it has been locked to me...I know Apple recently beefed up their security. To prevent someone that had stolen an iPad, and wanted to wipe it and use it for themselves. I read somewhere, that before wiping your iPad, you have to go into your iTunes account and deactivate that device....I dunno

I'm making my way over to Android too - no longer use an iPhone - it's now being used in my music centre. My phone of choice is now the Note 3....and I'm loving it !!! Next to go will be my iPad mini, to be replaced with the next Galaxy Tab S that is coming out next month

But they should have a way of getting past this.

I'd explode of my phone or tablet display a message saying 'but a replacement'. Maybe a 'Error. Call xxx' or 'Validation failed' - but not simply buy a new one. Almost seems unreal to have a message state that
