I want to get the hdmi cable for my ipad 2 so I can play videos/youtube and home videos on my 32 LCD.

I see there are multiple cables, some with usb support, is it worth going for these all in one cables or should I just stick to hdmi?

Would be nice to have a choice of usb external hard drive etc.

You cannot attach a usb device to an iPad. So i don't see the point of them on a video out cable?
Secondly, you could just get a cheap second hand Apple TV and stream all your iPad content to you TV wirelessly.

If the iPad is jailbroken, then you can attach a USB device. The Apple TV is a good idea but a cable will still be cheaper. If you do have R1099 available, then a new Apple TV is really worthwhile.

Bought the WD Live TV for R999 including delivery instead of cable and or Apple TV.

See I can stream videos and photos etc from an ipad with apps.
Just made more sense seeing that WD can play everything I have and will replace my clunky HTPC.

Are there any tablets out there that allows me to INPUT my HDMI Device?
I would like to use it as a touch screen 2nd monitor for windows 8 and to connect my camera & ps3 directly to the device?
