iPad2 + CellC 2Gb/mth = no brainer?

hi i have a q regarding the cell c 3g + ipad 2 combo.

How exactly would you use the cell c sim in the ipad2? ie

Do you connect the USB modem/cell c speedstick with the cell c sim inside to the Ipad2 . I think Ipad 1 didnt have a USB port..not sure about ipad 2

or

Put the sim itself directly inside the Ipad2?

I assume since its an apple, if you put the sim inside you need to cut it to microsim size..but then if you do this will it fit again in the cell c speedstick if i want to connect the speedstick to my laptop? Reason I ask is that woosh only works on my laptop if I use the cell c speedstick. If i put the sim inside my laptop itself, i get very slow speeds...

Yes, the SIM goes straight into the iPAD, so you need to cut it down to micro-SIM size ... Cut yourself a little micro-to-mini converter from the same piece of plastic that your sim comes in ... then you can use that to stick your new micro-sized SIM into any old modem/phone.

Hi TYR thanks. Is there anyway to get the cell c data on 2 sim cards? ie sharing the allocated data on 1 sim number between 2 sims?

also doesn't the IPAD 2 have a usb port so could I not just slot my speedstick in to avoid having to change the sim sizes....

If I wanted to buy an Ipad 2, would people recommend getting a Wi-Fi one instead of a 3g one and using the iphone 4 personal wi fi hotspot to get 3g on the Ipad?
would the browsing speed be the same on the ipad as the speed on the iphone itself if you use wi-fi personal hotspot.

Basically I am looking for the most convienent an cheapest way to use cell c woosh on a laptop and ipad and maybe iphone

I have a Vodacom data sim in my ipad. It is on the same account as the sim in my iphone, so I can share one bundle between the two devices, but I don't think CellC is gonna let you do that on their deals.
My ipad is on a wifi network most of the time, but when it's not, it is just very convenient that it switches to 3g seamless. For this reason My Ipad 2 will also be a 3g model. I want my iphone on my wifi hotspots as well and it would just be a pain to always have to first switch on the personal hotspot when I want to share to the ipad. Also, personal hotspot does not work for any apn setting, not sure if cellc allows it, vodcom qnd mtn does. If I set my apn to FNB Connect, the personal hotspot option is not available.

Sounds like a signal/antenna issue with ur internal 3G modem?

If you are looking at this simply as a matter of rands per megabytes then I believe 8ta is giving good deals at the moment. Source: saw it in another thread here.

Personally, I left CellC for Vodacom. Nothing wrong with the hardware or software at CellC: it's the wetware! i.e. the utterly clueless high-school dropouts they populate their stores with. I won't even walk past their store at The Reds: the Cluelessness Distortion Field might be contagious.

Hi Pavan..the thing is I have an MTN sim card inside my laptop. It works fine and I use the MTN fastlink software. So the modem is working fine...not sure maybe its something to do with the settings?

Woosh comes with all the settings automatically so maybe its specific to the modem they supply and I just need to change the settings?

TYR, have you tried connecting your IPAD using just the personal hotspot on your iphone? that not connecting via a router and using wifi.
Reason I ask is i went to the istore sandton city recently and asked one of the guys there and he said that it is not possible to use the personal hotspot to connect the iphone to ipad...
