iPhone 11 issue

My wife has had an iPhone 11 for 5 months and has had a problem with it she has only just told me about. Basically some apps such as Instagram and her FNB banking app open and overlap into the status bar. It means for example that on Instagram she cannot see what she is typing because the first line is hidden behind the notch. Similarly the FNB menu button will cross over to the status bar and it will sit on top of the current time display (see pic).

She has automatic updates on for iOS and apps and is currently on 13.5. She has tried deleting and reinstalling apps 100 times, restarted the phone, switched zoom off and on but it still remains.

Any ideas how to fix this?

I have no idea if there is a fix for it to be honest but I have seen this behavior on my previous XS Max and on my current 11 Pro Max, but it happens every now and then, it’s like the app’s UI goes up a little for some reason, I usually just close the app and reopen it and it’s fixed.

I have seen it happen in the FNB App, WhatsApp and quite a few times on LinkedIn as well. Usually a restart of the app clears it, seems to be a bug that’s part of iOS 13.

I have seen text overlaps happen sometimes in a few parts of the UI, it happens out of nowhere and then doesn’t happen for a long time, very weird. Software quality control has not been at the best at Apple in recent times I have to say, we are a long way from iOS 6, lol.

It's coming and going with the FNB app as you say, but it is a constant with Instagram and of course, it so happens this is her most used app :p

Oh well, I'll keep nosing about, thanks for the reply. Good info.
