Hello everybody.
Is there a way to program my old iPhone 12 Mini to Start a certain application 2 or 3 times a day?
it is running on iOS 15.5

Thank you for the reply... Yes, it should be doable with 'Shortcuts'. I have tried since Monday and I don't get it right
I can navigate thru the menus until where I must add the program to be started. The thing is - I don't get the option to add it... Can you give me a step by step newbie instruction list? I am not good with iPhones at all.

Just out of curiosity, why is your iPhone 12 Mini still on IOS 15.5? The latest version of IOS is 17.6.1.
No idea. Isn't the update happen automatically? Eitherway, this is what it says: iOS 15.5 and honestly, I don't want to bother looking deeper into it.

Just use the Automation function under Shortcuts.

yes, I get you and I can navigate to the screen you posted. The issue is: I don't see the aplication I need to restart. I see a bunch of other applications in there but not the one I need. Mind you, half of the apps are not listed there...

Update to iOS 18 - the shortcuts app has all kinds of improvements

Btw, which app are you trying to automate
Huh... Is complicated... Is about home servers and FreeBSD and XigmaNas... But the app which must restart on the iPhone is called "Nextcloud app". When I take a pic or video, it must upload it to my home server (in the background). Photos upload right away. Videos only on Wifi. On Android it works out of the box. It works on iOS too but only if I open/start the app manually.
But then again, I know a thing or too about Android. iOS is meh for me 😥
Is there a quck way of upgrading the iOS?

Astounding you know so much…but can’t update the OS yourself.

Truly amazing.

Many things are amaizing in life. Got my first computer on my 18th birthday... I am 58 now... I still remember the entire 56 assembly language commands and all 13 addressind modes... If you bother to google, you'll figure out which processor (and computer) that was. Or even better - ask AI . C - programs I wrote in 1986 still compile and run on a modern system... I was 20 when I came to South Africa. Had to learn english from scratch. My son is older than that now. The thing is I hate iPhones. Just checked on Github and I see: Nextcloud Auto-Upload on a iPhone was a well known issue...
Thanks to the ones who bothered to reply. If I don't forget the password, I might pop in here in a few months. Nice forum
