Iphone 13 died overnight

went to bed put the darn thing on charge working perfectly fine no issues, even set my alarm for the morning.... woke up way late cause my alarm didnt go off in the moring and phone wont even swtich on or charge
tried all of the hard resest soft reset and charge for hours and still nothing just completely dead
out of warranty so istore is like buy a new phone ...

what are my options here - anyone manage to get something like this repaired?
 
Was it actually charging?
Try a different cable as a start.

yup thats where I would start. Get a cable/charger you know is working and test that. also, try cleaning the charging port.

Did you see it was actually charging when you plugged it in?

Edit: as above.
 
Keep in mind if the battery is completely out of charge it takes a minute to see that it is charging.
 
whats that thing that people always say when people say apple is worse than andoid? it just works right?

guess that is not always true.

now that I am done having fun I will also ask a potentially helpful question.
if the charger plugged into a plug with surge protection?
because you saw it was charging and it is dead this morning it could be there was an unexpected power surge and that fried something on the phone.
try smelling around the charging port, you will instantly know if something fried there.

but it sounds like its time to get a new phone. and possibly a surge protecting extension to charge it at night...
 
apple built in obsolence... Not satisfied with throttling the CPU on older devices, the batteries now suicide as well.

ive owned iphones for 13 odd years and through the peaks of loadsheddinng - never had a power surge affect an iphone...

They def have a failsafe in case of surge, knowing Apple.
