iPhone 14 discussions

Do you know why it was so low? When I did the online calculator it came to up to 18k for a 12PM 256GB.

Wish I could cancel my preorder and try my luck at Tygervally instead
Pre order with Cellucity? The Tygervalley Cellucity is like a 2 min walk away, they will just cancel the order on their side. Would recommend starting the process at iStore, then cancel with Cellucity. The Cellucity is next to the Mug n Bean

What the hell, trade in prices were much higher a week ago, What happened?
No idea, but I just said no thanks, will rather do a private sale. I can only assume that its because the new phones are out, the 13 PM is seen as an "old" device, so the price dropped?

Doing online check now, it is evaluated at R20 000. Maybe the guy I dealt with entered in the wrong details? No idea, he didnt even look at the phone, just asked what I had.

that sucks, I wanted to trade in my 11 256 and the online tool offered R9k last week. So i guess it wont be worth it anymore. I will do a private sale which i hate coz i have to filter through all the scammers. but we soldier on i guess.

Yeah maybe he was drunk, or they are probably trained to offer the lowest amount possible, qoutas have to be met come financial year end.

How is it that you all see the case but nobody mentions that gorgeous cat

The case is nice too, yeah.

Got home a few minutes ago with my purple 512GB 14 Pro Max. Quite stoked - the dynamic island is amazing.

I'm concerned that despite updating iOS, the camera made that clicking sound when scanning my 1Password setup QR codes. Doesn't seem to have been fixed.

AIUI, the issue was a lot more than just clicking, it was visible shaking.

Mine wasnt busy at all. Literally walked in. Biggest delay was me going back to Cellucity, for them to close the open account \ upgrade request from their side. iStore wasnt busy at all. was helped straight away as I walked in at 11:00. This was the Tygervalley branch in CPT. Other stores may vary.

Edit: Didnt do a trade in, they offered 8k for my 13PM 256 which is in perfect condition.
lol on the site the offered upto 7.5 for my iphone 11 64GB, i will probably getting 2k by the looks of it.

The max trade-in on a 256GB 13PM is R20k. I was knocked down to R16k on account of the smallest scratch imaginable on the one side, which could only have been caused by Apple's own transparent case because my phone has never not been in it. But then I said I can't accept such a pathetic trade-in, and the tech guy said hang on let me check with the manager, and lo and behold, R20k was suddenly available. So I did the trade-in.

I feel like the EU should fine Apple €1bn or something for the iPhone 14 buttons being 2-3mm lower than the 13 Series, and therefore breaking compatibility with 13 Series cases.

So device is setup, only issue faced, I wasnt able to transfer my MTN eSIM across, says it is unsupported. Luckily the business service desk know what's happening now, took 2 mails to get it sorted. 1 asking for a new QR code and then another mail to answer security questions. Overall, took 30 min, where most of that was me missing their mail asking for the security questions answers. Overall, pretty smooth sailing. Now I can start playing

Only hiccup I had was with pairing my watch to the new phone, it kinda failed midway and was still paired to the old phone. Had to reset and erase on the watch and re-add on the new phone.
