No, but pretty much the same reason, different OS, different chips. Benchmarks don't give you real life vibes, you'd need to take both antutu and geekbench to get a sort of understanding of how it works.

I have AppleCare+, I’ve not had to claim on it but it shows SA if I click through for service.

The terms say

yes i have ... iphone 13 pro max in year two the face id stopped working ... they gave me a "new" phone. Later found out its a refurb, but the internals are used and the outer housing etc is all new. Flown in from Apple US apparently
 
Seems mine is finally out for delivery from Makro.

Of course they sent me a survey about the “customer interaction” none of which actually happened so I left a horrible rating and mouthing off but I doubt anyone will read it.

Either it’s very fortuitous timing or they simply forgot these orders.

Just got the exact same email immediately after Courier IT delivered.

“Slight” delay. Jesus whoever wrote that has no shame.
 
On a positive note loving the matte finish on the back that I wasn’t even aware of.

I simply assumed it would be glassy/glossy as always but this feels very nice to the touch.

Rhinoshield has a very deep lip on the back, presumably to keep the cameras completely clear of a surface which is a nice touch but may take some getting used to. Makes the whole phone nice and chunky and more secure in hand so I do like it.

Camera button seems entirely in the wrong place for a landscape photos and is quite a stretch, seems like it was rather designed for vertical use which means I’ll probably never bother.

Build quality seems a little dodgy with my flash being offset from the body, hopefully this doesn’t become some issue down the line.

If memory serves me correctly the was a lawsuit in the US / Europe about Apple replacing phones with refurbs and not brand new devices.

Mine just arrived about an hour ago. I'm not yet back from my trip yet so it'll have to wait until I can see if they sent me the right thing.

The tone of that "apology" was extremely poor, instead of taking responsibility they just make it sound like it's completely not their problem. Hey you get this FREE item, be happy!

It may be a nice way to get a new one when it's approaching the end of warranty...

But minor detail I noticed and after the drama with Makro really not something I'm concerned about enough to volunteer myself for more trauma.

Have to say so far the migration process has not been it's usual smooth and painless self, with first the forced update and then needing restart the process more than once as it was just spinning.

Now it's stuck on "Setting up your account..." again but this time I'm just leaving it.
