iPhone 3G with iOS 4.1- Post your performance experiences here

Loaded and testing.
SMS much quicker to respond and reacts while typing. iPod is still slow albeit slightly quicker. Mail loads much quicker. And finally most of my apps are working again!!
Safari is superfast my 4.0.1 was useless so really really happy about this!!

Overall seems to be a major improvement will keep testing...

I'm also very happy with this update, everything seems much faster - especially Mail, Photos & Maps. Not gonna jailbreak again (gonna miss my battery meter and wallpaper), speed is most important.

Mine persisted through the restore :)

So far so good then? holding till after the weekend after I've backed up my SMS and notes.

The iTunes backup has been working well for me since 2.x days. I no longer bother backing up via JB methods.

Yes it does work well, but I prefer a clean restore, just going to email everything important as a backup.

Well, after using iOS 4.1 on my iPhone 3G, I'm happy to report that it feels as fast as the day I first used it. Very happy.

Mine is going better but there is room for improvement. Message app now takes 2 seconds to open instead of 10. I've even turned Spotlight search back on. Mail app seems more responsive too and I've got a bunch of email accounts including 2 Exchange ones setup.

I am so happy with the iOS 4.1 upgrade....last night I listened to music, surfed a few web sites & watched YouTube videos until my battery died.

Feels exactly like the first day I got my iPhone 3G. :)

Yup.

Gonna wait till early next year, for the new dual-core Samsung Android phones (Samsung said it will be released early next year).

I'm happy to see the year out with my 3G. ;)

Samsung info :

Samsung's Orion is the 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 we've all been waiting for

Breaking News

We still consider Samsung's Hummingbird application processor to be among the very best for mobile computers, but this morning Sammy itself is stepping up the charge to make it look real old real fast. The freshly announced dual-core Orion promises to whip us all into a frenzy of geek lust with "5 times the 3D graphics performance over the previous processor generation from Samsung," 1080p video encoding and decoding at 30fps, embedded GPS, a native triple display controller, and on-chip HDMI 1.3a interface. Those last two bits mean you can drive two displays on your mobile device while feeding a third, such as a HDTV, all thanks to the one all-powerful chip inside. Availability for "select customers" is coming late this year, with mass production set for the first half of 2011. To say we're looking forward to it would be a massive understatement.

I did a restore....and now almost getting 2 days of use!

My (almost two year old) iPhone 3G is now almost giving me two days of use on iOS 4.1 - few phone calls, taking pictures, check and reply on Facebook, using Google Maps, playing music, etc.

Thank you Apple! Woot woot!
