Howsit Guys ..and Girls :)

Basically you can see the decision i have to make. upgrading soon and torn between the 2. i have not used either of these brands before so it will be a learning curve either way.

Looking for one that suits business needs, i am a contractor and on the road a lot.so having a phone that i can email a client and be able to do that from site helps out hugely.

Know the torch isnt here yet, but was hoping to hear from anyone that may have brought it over.
Liking the slider of the torch.

The iPhone is also just so pretty.

Thanks in advance.

I think both of them are good phones. In my personal opinion, Blackberry for business, iPhone for play. The Blackberry email and messaging capability is unrivaled whereas the iPhone has brilliant media, graphics and overall fun and entertaining aspect to it.

What's wrong the the messaging system of the iPhone? I have used both (had a Curve, then a Storm) and iPhone 3 and 3GS. Once again, this is personal preference, but for me the iPhone has the most features and ease of use. Don't get me wrong, the BB is great (except the POS Storm), but I like the iPhone.

No one will be able to tell you which you'll prefer, as the BB crowd love theirs and the iPhone crowd theirs. I would highly recommend trying out each one. You can go to any iStore to try out the iPhone and maybe the BB at a normal cellphone shop.

Thats the thing, where the torch is so much more business orientated, one can also do the same with the iPhone although it seems to be more rounded to be used for when you want to relax too.
The touchscreen is also apparently the 'best' iPhone wise, but how effective is it to type emails with it? whereas email is 'perfect' on a Blackberry, i have read that the web browser isnt the most user friendly.

Can you amend ms word files on an iPhone; or is there an app for it? bcos if not then i will have to go for blackberry.

Thank you for the replies

Thank you hammell. since you have used both brands can you, please , answer the question on ms word documents?

There's pretty much an app for everything - one of the advantages for the iPhone. So yes, you can use documents-to-go or other such app.

Blackberry has very few apps that are free. Not sure about the iPhone but from my iTunes account there seem to be lots more free apps available. I use and love my BB for work etc. The unlimited data has changed the way I use the phone and Blackberry Messenger is fantastic but I think the only thing that keeps me on BB is the unlimited data. If that was available on other phones I'd probably change to iPhone.

Id say take the iPhone, i have a 3GS and BB8900 Curve to play with here at home (both are my mother's) and even she prefers the iPhone due to its large display, SILKY SMOOTH UI- they are definetly not lying when they say its the best touchscreen smartphone around, its UI is just excellent, very well thoughtout and it just works. As said before there's pretty much an app for anything and everything so there's bound to be a doc app like Documents-to-go in the AppStore. Web browsing is also brilliant, again; smooth and fast, thats my experience with the 3GS, the 8900 just falls flat next on its face next to it, and if thats how a 3GS is i can only imagine how the iPhone4 is with its 1GHz CPU, 512mb RAM, and 960x640 "Retina Display" ,im no fan of Apple, but i simply cannot deny it when a device is just so well built from hardware working beautifuly with the software and then put together with great support in every way (updates, apps, accessories etc...), get that iPhone4! :)

Thanks so much! Def going for the iphone. Went to the istore and used one for say ten min, was a pleasure.
