iPhone 4 to arrive mid August

iPhones are great, but if you get your screen scratched or the back develops a crack near the dock connector and you're looking for any kind of official service, forget about it. They ONLY swap out these phones, they don't service them in any way. And if your warranty is up or voided because the faulty liquid indicators they have in the dock and headphone have turned red, you're S.O.L. (unless you'd like to pay for another phone from them at a reduced price of 40% of the retail price).

I will never purchase a brand new iPhone again. I'd rather get a 2nd hand one at a much cheaper price.

Regarding the pricing, that's one of the reasons I'm ordering from Aus and collecting it there - paid about R6900 for a 64GB 3G ;)

True, aware of the cr@ppy "warranty" we get here in SA, but still won't stop me from getting a new one :) Touch wood, never had a phone break on me and my phones usually look pretty good after use :)
 
If you Google "iPhone liquid damage indicator" you'll read a lot of horror stories from people who have been stiffed by Apple on warranty because of this dodgy litmus paper they use to determine if the device went near water. Mine has the dock connector indicator showing up red. They refuse to open the phone to see if the internal (and important) indicators got triggered.

Yet if you download the official Apple International Warranty it says nothing about the phones not being able to be serviced, or warranties being voided.

Vodacom screws us again...

Sounds like the days I used to work in cellular - 80% of Nokia repairs came back as "liquid damage" - whatever!!!! ;)

You're just going about this all wrong.

If you buy a piece of tech for over 10k just insure the damn thing FFS.

Anything happens to it you claim... done.
 
Stoked - family member has managed to secure 2 iPhone 4 16gigs from Covent Garden store in London - one week till my 3G retires, cannot wait :) Sorry, other one has already been spoken for...

Aah!! Lucky!! You only have to wait a week - I have to wait 11 days before I get my iPhone 4...can't...wait...anymore...

END OF SEPTEMBER What the.....:mad::sick::mad::sick::mad: Am not happy!! But I see they will launch the Samsung Galaxy S now, why MONEY MONEY MONEY!!! They will make far more money on the Samsung than the iPhone. End of September is absolutely shocking Vodacom!!!!
