Hi,

Im due for an upgrade and looking at tossing the useless blackberry and getting either the iPhone 4 or 4s. I know that the normal iPhone 4 stocks are dwindling because the product is discontinued until the 4s arrives but does anyone know what the monthly 4s contract costs will be? Will they be significantly more expensive or on par with the 4? It's actually such a joke that everyone is kept in the dark with the 4s, it is undoutebly Apple SA's way of creating a hype but their communication skill are useless. This is an expensive phone and as a customer, the cell phone companies and Apple SA should play ball instead of dropping big prices on us and keeping us in the dark??!!!!!!!

Any info, advice will be much appreciated!

From what i have heard the packages are not finalised yet, but i am guessing they will be slightly more expensive than the iPhone 4.

Just wish these useless Cell Phone companies would disclose the info a few weeks prior to releasing the phones? NOT on the day. But they clever, they all want to nail people when they have a que behind them for the same phone...force people to pay the premium.

Well, if I have to wait too long, I am going to get a Moto RAZR ... , I can not postpone getting a new phone indefinetly, circumstances dictate otherwise ...

Well for one, there is no Apple SA. Yes they supported by Core, but in no way are they owned or governed by Apple. Apple could not care 2 hoots about SA, the proof is in the lack of proper store for us as well.

I'm having the same problem. Vodacom are currently running a promotion on the iPhone 4, selling it for R299/month on contract. The problem is that they've discontinued sales of the phone, so only through some searching will you likely be able to find one to buy.

I can totally see the 4S costing in the range of R400-500/month when it arrives, so I'm going to try my best to get the 4.

hold yer horse there fella.

iPhone 4 launched with the R375 top up deal where u got R275 airtime a month... not bad.
Later on it was the R249 on business call... cheaper but not a great package.
Now its R300 on? ....

Seems to me the best deal is the 1st deal when the phones launch

No doubt phones were secured months ago and bought with forward cover protecting them from weakening rand. They just waiting for Rand/$ to see it's arse some more to justify raping S.A users again.

Yep, and I am being sorely tempted by an offer of a Moto RAZR, for a lot cheaper than the iPhone 4S is likely to be ... , and I can get it NOW ...

Well get the RAZR and the money you save buy a cheap 8 gig iPod touch and some double sided tape... that way you can have both :)

I mean, put together they would be about the same thickness.

Gotta love the lateral thinking here. But we can do better: Duct-tape a MiFi to an IPod Touch and just Skype anyone you want to talk to!

OK, the duct tape does affect the touch screen's sensitivity level a bit. :p

If things were to follow the US market then the prices should be very similar, unfortunately the differences in our market are Rand/$, Core, Vodacom / MTN.

In general the pricing should be in a similar ball park, in either case I suggest waiting for the 4S, that way you can choose between the 4S, cheaper 4 or farm the second hand market for an even more affordable 4.
