I agree, but lady at iStore told me they are forced by networks to sell cash phones with sim cards.
A bit off topic, but can you buy the iphone directly from an istore and what is their price?

Yes you can. Not sure on prices.
As a standard they will say anytime you use a different sim you can void your warranty, but you can argue the manufacturer vs network warranty. The networks only ever use this if there is a reason they don't want to honour the warranty. So would be if it's an expensive repair or of your acting like a cock.
Remember ITC keeps records of every sim that's been in a phone so a once off registration won't help.
Buy like I said, the different sim policy is rarely used.
I have read that phones are legally no longer allowed to be locked to a specific network in South Africa, so the networks are voiding the warranty if another networks SIM card is used - which is legal. The networks normally provide the warranty on behalf of the manufacturer, so Apple only provides warranty if you buy an iPhone from an Apple store (not an iStore since an iStore is only an authorized reseller of Apple products and on part of Apple itself).
