No big surprise, but Apple just announced the iPhone 5

Thinner and better than the previous ones.


New iPhone 5 is just 7.6mm thick, 18% thinner than iPhone 4S
 
Rotten company ... avoiding like the plague, regretting buying "The New iPad" for my wife ...

Seriously, who patents rounded corners?

samsung cannibalising and looking to monopolize the android market, what a nice company.

the round corners thing is a lol too. there is not patent on round corners fools. there is a patent on trade dress, ie the design of the phone. when you write things down, you describe them, so in the description of the design, it includes how the corners are rounded, among other things.

this round corner patent is a myth, exacerbated by Samsung lawyers after the court case saying "It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners". it is clever misinformation spreading, i'll give them that.
 
Yipes... my Apple-toting brother just meh'd this launch... said that Apple has dropped the ball... and this is more like an iPhone 4s+ really.

Waits to be seen. One wonders if the market now is really saturated and properly competitive so that it doesn't stand out sufficiently, or if it's still in a different league to the rest of the competition. I'm pretty much in the latter camp here. It's the classiest phone I've ever seen for certain.
 
See no reason to dump my 4s. If you're still on a 3GS though, run, don't walk to get one.

The new credit-card-sized ipod nano means no more Apple "wristwatches", I guess. Come on Pebble, get those things to market!
 
I'm not hugely impressed, gonna keep my 4 and save some bucks by going onto pay as you go from dec
 
Agg people must realise this now. Everyone says "Ohhh Apple Fail, Apple are not innovating or revolutionizing anything". Apple dont give a f##k. They release a new phone, it is going to sell 10 million units, done. What more does a company want?

I dislike Apple and the way they do business, but honestly, all they do is make something the people want and it sells, and this will sell BIG TIME.
