Hope someone can help. My iphone cannot connect to virgin actives' wifi and I can't connect to my allocated 1gb data from G-connect. In both instances it does not want to load the landing page so that I can log in with my username and password. I have 6.0.2 installed. Any advice to what the problem may be?

Did you update to iOS 6.0.2? The update was meant to fix the wifi issue. But some people have said that they are still experiencing wifi issues...

Trying doing Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Sometimes the iOS updates hold onto legacy data that doesn't get flushed and causes some issues connecting to access points.

If I reset network settings, will I loose my Vodacom settings such as APN and MMS settings. Just want to know if I must write it down first.

No no, it will only reset all your Wireless Network settings, so any APN's you've been connected to before you'll need to add again.

Nothing to do with GSM settings.

Thanks, the "reset network" option worked.

iphone wi fi issue

Thanks, the "reset network" option worked.

Just read your thread and also reset my network settings. It worked. I have had the phone for three days and when it is connected to wifi - it eats the bandwidth faster than I can buy it. 2 gigs per day for two days. When I switched wifi off bandwidth usage slowed back down. Could it be icloud?

Might be iCloud backup.

Hi there. I have an iPhone 4S. On about 21 January it was suddenly unable to connect to a WiFi access point at work. So I tried to connect it to my personal WiFi access point which I have been able to do since I set it up lst year. This also failed along with my connecting to my WiFi access point at home. I then read about Apple iPhone 4S WiFi issues (some prevailing since last year in September). I then disabled security on both my personal and home WiFi access points and my iPhone was able to connect. What seems strange is that an iPhone does not have an option to setup WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK or any other security option. Is anyone aware of any issues with iPhones. Resetting the network settings has not helped. My iOS is at version 6.0.1 and is up to date according to my iPhone. I am unable to update to version 6.0.2 despite having just updated my wifes iPad Mini to version 6.0.2. So is this an iOS 6.0.1 issue and am I able to upgrade to version 6.0.2 on my iPhone 4S?

Thanks

Any device that forces me to throw security out the window by setting my router to WEP can get stuffed. If my iPhone 5 upgrade goes the same route I'm sticking to the 4.

Why so over paranoid? I am running a simple home wifi network which is password protected. If I really wanna know if somebody tried to hack my insanely valuable network I can check access control or mac address limitation.

I really understand if you have sensitive information to protect or if it's a business network, but at my home? I could't care less about WEP/WPA. Besides, it's a temporary fix. Apple will hopefully address this issue.

The problem may not be access to data so much as it is blowing your cap or if you are on a mobile contract a OOB shark attack.

Apple have had wifi issues for pretty much every iPhone IMO. So they've had more than a while to fix it ;)

What brand of routers are people, who are experiencing difficulties, using? I haven't noticed any wifi problems on any of my iOS devices but then again my house is fairly well blanketed.

I have seem some issues with my TPLink. The weird part is that one iDevice stops talking to it, others work fine. Reboot router and they all start working again. Saw it a lot when there was still a iPhone 3G in the house, but less since moving to 4 & 4S.

Just fair, didn't think of it that way.

Hey

My problem is that it connects to the router shows that wifi is available with no issues but when you want to use the internet or other apps such as whatsapp it says no internet connection, the other 2 people at work with iphone 4 and 4S have no issues:cry:

it use to connect and work fine but yesterday they added a new server and today its not working. I hope it still works at home please oh please work at home at least:cry:

Vodacom replaced my iPhone 5 because of wifi issues - especially issues with connecting to WPA and WPA2 encrypted networks...

If you have issues like that (unable to connect to wifi while other iPhones do it with no issues - send it back and they will replace it.
