iphone 6 bending defect

Yet the Note 3 didn't bend.

Who cares? It bears no relevance on whether the iPhone 6 Plus has design flaws, or if it will bend from normal day to day use or not. Which the Army claims to now be a fact that it does/will, based on a few videos and pictures.

Obviously it doesn't/won't.

Nor is the Note 3 made from aluminium. It's made from faux metal, faux leather, and plastic. It's a given that it would return to form easier than metal after being bent.

I don't think anyone can disagree with that if they look at the issue rationally (and the problem is confirmed as being more widespread than just a handful of people and a few link bait YouTube reviewers).

That was my thinking too. But PostmanPot here does not agree.

Of course it's relevant. The excuse the Apple guys give is because the phone is big. The Note 3 is just as big and didn't bend.

You haven't seen the Note 3 bend test have you? the phone didn't change shape then back. it didn't bend at all.

Usually you're more informed than this Postman Pot.

No, it's big, and made from aluminium. Do you really expect metal to bend back to shape?

Of course I've seen it. It still bears no relevance, besides reinforcing my points:

Yeah, it didn't bend at all.

It is you who is usually the one more informed than this. I'll still respect your opinion on other matters.

The problem isn't about whether it bends when putting all your force into bending it, it's about the shape developing a bend from gentle pressure in your pocket.

The iPhone 6+ is a bit too weak but most people will probably use a case on it which should give it enough support.

Why do people feel they need to defend Apple on this and act like other phones are just as bendable? At gentle pressure other phones are not developing a permanent bend. Please stop being fanboys, Apple needs to know that people won't settle for a bent device and I'm betting they're already sorting out this problem going forward. Please sheeple stop acting like it's a nonexistent problem. You're embarrassing yourself.

It's a real problem that's apparently affected 9 people so far. Sounds like a crisis at Apple HQ.

Yea, As I said earlier, likely owners of the device will just start becoming super careful where they put it.

Sounds like a bunch of press hooey tbh. Want to guess how much attention it would have gotten if there were 9 defective S5s at release? I'm thinking maybe ... like... none. But it's Apple so everyone's in arms over it.

Didn't read all the posts but I did see one suggesting this would/ should not influence anyones decision to get an iPhone 6+. Well I'm in that boat so thought I would comment - and why shouldn't this influence my decision? I've had an IPhone, went to Samsung, and am now thinking about going back to Apple but I've got no strong convictions about it either way - main reason is I've got other Apple products so figured it would be a good idea. But I like both phones and operating systems.
So this does seem a small issue. But I'm a lowly consumer and my perception is my reality - it seems this phone does bend easier than others. I'm not keen on changing the way I handle my phone to ensure nothing happens, and again, from my poiont of view, while the 6+ is a good phone I don't see it as being waaay above the others out there to warrant taking that risk (real or not). Not that Apple, or other 6+ users, care to be honest.
But I hope it's a non-issue, or if it is something that Apple/ other companies learn from it.

Imagine we had to start a thread every time a S4's battery swelled?

Well there was a thread and Samsung admitted there was a faulty batch and gave free swop outs.

Fail comparison?
