iPhone 6s bending in back pockets

If you want durability with limited functionality get the Samsung.If you want it "to just work" stick with the current model.

If it is 7" when your wife think it's ready to use then maybe you should consider a bigger model.

Are they doing this test at the weakest point though? In the original iPhone video the phone bent in the top quarter and not in the centre. The centre might be much stronger.

Are there really people still defending this?

That phone bends way to easily and I seriously doubt that they've only had 9 complaints. They need to fix it...

Seattle developer Kav Latiolais woke up Saturday morning to discover something quite unpleasant.

The 128 GB iPhone 6 he’d purchased on Thursday afternoon had inexplicably bent — a rare malfunction which Apple says has only occurred in a small subset of the large iPhone 6 Plus devices.

“I plugged the phone in to charge overnight, and nothing was amiss,” Latiolais tells GeekWire. “I’d been taking a lot of photos and was so paranoid about hurting my brand new phone that I kept it in my coat pocket or hand all night. When I got home, I propped the phone against the wall to charge overnight. When I pulled it off the charger in the morning, it was bent along the angle it leaned on the wall. It’s almost as if it sagged. In fact, looking closely at it … I can see it’s not so much bent as curved, rounded almost.”

No doubt they will. The short term question is wether or not these phones should be avoided or not. Testing does seems to show the bending issue is somewhat overblown. I don't remember anyone complaining about the HTC One M8 being too weak.

The heat from the charging probably caused it to bend due to the way it was charged. It's just becoming ridiculous at this point and Apple's continued silence is just making it worse. Just recall the phones already.

I wouldn't want a swap out. I'd want my money back.

I'd say that is a serious flaw - what's going to happen when people have the phone in a cupholder in the car, plugged into the cigarette charger - will it bend over slightly due to the heated phone chassis and bumps in the road?

Apple are not doing themselves any favours by remaining "Blackberry silent" on the issue!

LONDON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- An Israeli psychic known for purportedly bending metal objects with his mind says Apple's bending iPhone 6 woes could be explained by "mental forces."
Uri Geller said during a visit to England there were "two possible reasons for the phenomenon" that has been dubbed "Bendgate" by unhappy iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners who discovered the phones bent after spending time in a user's pants pocket.

"Either the device is extremely thin so that it bends when even a weak force is implied on it -- which is hard to believe for Apple has been conducting many tests and experiments -- or the energy and excitement of the millions of consumers stirred up their mental forces causing the iPhone to bend," Geller told MarketWatch.

Geller said he is willing to help Apple shirk the blame for the bending devices.

"I offer Apple to hire me in order to explain to the world that the phenomenon is not at all the company's fault."

Geller said he knows from personal experience that its possible to bend a phone with one's mind.

"I've bent my old BlackBerrys before," he said.

Apple says so far a total of nine customers have complained to the company about bent iPhones.

Something is weird with what he claims.

How do you prop the phone against the wall as described with the Lightning cable plugged in the bottom?

I've just tried with a normal 6 and it keeps falling over :confused:.
