Is it not possible to add an attachment in the iOS email client?

Press and hold in the body of the email – calls up a menu – cycle through right arrow to the "Add Attachment"? At least, I think that's how it's done – don't use Mail.app.

Got it thanks.

Surely a small paperclip button as it is in every other email app in the world is a better option than:
1. Holding down on nondescript white space
2. This first brings up a magnifying glass
3. A second later a tiny ribbon menu appears with Select, Select All, Paste and a tiny arrow in the right of the screen
4. As the arrow is about 2 pixels thick it takes a few attempts of step 1 -3 again until you scroll enough to see "add attachment"

Talk about an afterthought for such an important task. Apple being innovative again :D

I agree but you don't have to hold down on the nondescript white space. It merely requires a tap...

Outlook for iOS is much better than the native app, give it a go

I have fat fingers and don't have any problem touching the arrow to bring up the attachment command, do you have some form of deformity to your fingers?

;)

Ok. Replace hold down with tap. Still ridiculous.

Yeah using it for my work email though. It is a much better app.

I do have big hands although not fat. No matter the hand size it takes more concentration than any other button to hit has it is 1/4 a normal on screen button size. It is just a silly convoluted process when there is such a simple solution used on everything else.

The arrow button is the same size as "cancel" or "send" when on an email, do you struggle with them as well?

Totally blown out of proportion.

Tap anywhere on the line that the cursor is on. If you're on a new line after breaking (i.e. Cursor is on the left), tap anywhere to the right of the cursor on that horizontal line.

Tap the well sized right arrow.

Tap Insert Photo or Video.

It's very easy, and fast. No holding, no magnifying.

Well that is the process which I figured out worked. That is what happens when basic things are hidden with no clues for a new user. Try ask someone who hasn't used an iPhone extensively and I'm sure they will also struggle and wonder where t f is the attach button. How is anyone meant to know to hold down white space? It not like you are selecting something or inserting an in line photo. Even in your concise version above it is unintuitive. Its basic HCI.

I really don't see how this can be justified. Its no train smash but it leaves me wondering why not just save the user 2 clicks in the first place? Try to think about this objectively.

No I don't. As per your picture the button is at least half the size of the 'Cancel' and 'Send' buttons. Perhaps it will be better on bigger devices like the Plus and iPad.

In the States and Europe, anyone with an Apple device can walk into an Apple store and receive instant service.

In SA, anyone with an Apple device purchased through Core Group can walk into an iStore and get near-instant service.

People can also Google or use forums for free advice.

Stop nitpicking and enjoy your awesome iDevice. :)

(We know you love it. ;))

I keep installing and uninstalling outlook.

Issues I've found:

Can't add a corporate onedrive account.
There is a limitation on how much history can be synced, I have confirmed this with support.
Calendar sucks
No 3D Touch support
No VIP inbox functionality
No notify me option for mails.

I keep checking back to see if the situation has improved.
