Grats. It's a beast. Once you get over the physical presence of the phone, you going to absolutely love it!!

Finally joining the 6s (Plus) guys

At the very last min decided to go with the Plus.

I just got it. 64gb; Silver.

Some pics. Opted for a Houdt cover...it's quality. R449. Official Apple cases starting at R849 onwards...ill pass.

Alongside my recently acquired Mini 2

As per an older post went with the 36 month option from MTN to keep my monthly costs lower.Took the 100 package & adds up to R449pm. They don't publicize that package on 6s Plus. They punt the 200 package for R559pm.

I'm coming from an iPhone 5. So 3 generations gap lol.

I'll report back in the coming days

Nicely done. Big leap!

Thanks guys...busy with it as we speak.

So far so good except for my overreacting when TouchID wasn't "working". The plastic cover all round was blocking the sensor! Yes yes...very dumb of me.

Then & Now...the difference of 3 years (generations). More opinions to follow during the course of the next few days

Houdt cover is lovely hey...the slimness & feel...tops.

Solid choice going with the plus. Enjoy.

Personally not a big fan of the Houdt covers but congratulations on the purchase!

Does the Houdt cover have any lip on the front?

Would it work with tempered glass?

Nope no lip.

I would think so. I like the natural feel & look.

No cover looks the same due to the grain of the wood.

Congrats.... Due upgrade in few weeks...

Head says 6S, curiousity says 6S+.... Still not sure.
Often have the phone in the pocket, and think S+ is simply going to be too cumbersome...
Pity, since the "add-on" specs make it very appealing... :whistling:

I have a 6s Plus and I leave it in my pocket a lot and it's not an issue at all, Plus is really a better option.

Never had issues with fitting it in a pocket. Girlfriend has the normal 6s and find the display quality quite cringe worthy ;-)

But. But. Skinny-jean pant!! :p

Ja. Going to do some reading up on this, and will probably get some weird looks from the iStore people as I stand around trying to get it in & out of my pocket, despite those little anti-theft cable-thingies... Tough choice this!

It's really not so bad... I moved from a 6 Plus to the 6S and it's alright

The 6s resolution is cringe worthy at first if you are used to 1080p or higher but you kind of get used to it unless you see something at 1080p again.

Maybe this year Apple will give the smaller iPhone a competitive resolution and the fanboys will be amazed.

Yeah that's about right. Going from a 2560 screen to 1136 is cringe worthy. I don't really notice it now though but when I see the crispness of those screens again I really wish Apple would quit being so arrogant and do just a little spec chasing.

Okay guys I think it's good time for my 2c of my 6s Plus experience. As you know had it since yesterday afternoon after coming from an iPhone 5.

My observations in bullet points (feel free to debate or question);

- The build & finish is typical Apple; re: outstanding. It's a premium phone through & through.

- The bigger battery of the larger Plus is the real deal. Used the phone extensively today & only hitting just below 20% now. Excellent for an iPhone.

- A9 CPU & 2gb RAM is the bomb....buttery smooth throughout entire UI. (My Geekbench scores was posted earlier)

- The 2nd Gen TouchID is amazingly fast! Like wow....I really dunno how they can make it any better for an iPhone 7/8/9.

- 3D Touch is a way of life now & learning curve is very little. I use it it mails; WhatsApp; Safari; home screen shortcuts so far. Many of my Apps support the home screen shortcuts & some peek & pop functionality as well. I genuinely see it making your life easier & more efficient.

- Live Photos; I honestly thought I won't use it but it's great; I have a small kid & to capture these tiny moments in one "picture" is tops. AirDrop Live Photos to Wifey's 5c & she can view them as well.

- The size story...yes the phone is big...5.5" screen & with relatively poor body to screen ratio but I promise you I adapted so easily. No more one handed use granted but not nearly as bad as I thought. My biggest "issue" was it fitting it in slightly tight 507's...it sticks out a notch but nothing too concerning.

- Weight...at almost 200g (192g) vs 112g of the iPhone 5 you would think its a major issue to live with...I can honestly say it's not. It really does not feel it's ~200g weight that it is. Maybe it's due to the "balance".

- Loving the screen quality; res & size. It just rocks for media consumption.

- Even though a 5.5" 1080p screen iPhone has been out since late 2014 there is still the odd App that has not adapting & the text just looks stupidly huge...I'm taking about you Standard (Bank) ****.

- I'm happy with my Silver color option. Tired of black (Space Gray) iPhones & the Gold & Rose Gold are not really my thing.

- The haptic engine (vibration) is rather good...people never comment on that...

- I would like to see some of the (basic) iPad iOS9 multitasking features being incorporated in the 6s Plus but I see & get where Apple wants to distinguish this from the iPads.

- 64gb is def the way to go. Best option by far ito of pricing.

- Camera speed & quality is properly good, have yet to test out 4K video.

- The WiFi "holds" noticeably better than the iPhone 5.

- I really really love this phone. I want iOS 9.3 to drop like yesterday mostly for that extra home screen 3D Touch functionality like Settings; Weather & the App Store as well.

Hmmm....what else...I can't think now...

TL; DR:

Go for the Plus...you will love the bigger battery & bigger; better screen

This links up now...another example of well implemented 3D Touch:

PS: I typed this entire long & researched post & the battery stayed on 37%. Love it
