I've had a lot of Androids over the years (Galaxy S2, S3, S4, S5, Nexus 4, 5 7, Sony Z3, Moto G) and after the release of the iPhone 6s, I sold my Sony Z3 and decided to get on the iPhone train for a number of growing reasons. And watching the release of the S7 and not being involved is making me realise I made the right choice.
It's just a spec war between a number of Android manufacturers and the constant and nagging need to upgrade to the latest and greatest seems to be ever present. Each of the big manufacturers bombard the market with several variations and it's quite often you are on top of the spec world for a month or two before the next one is along and the yearning starts again. S6 to M9 to Z4 etc etc
And the lack of updates and revisions is infuriating. If your phone will get it at all of course. Because the flagships change so often that you get forgotten about pretty quickly once you reach a year or so, that's it. It's DIY time with the best prospect of the latest (read 6 months old) update is to flash a ROM yourself. If it's even available that is.
So at the moment I'm waiting for Marshmallow for my Moto G which I've had for less than a year, and the talk is all about Android N being released :wtf:
Nah, as impressive as the S7 is, and it looks and plays fab, for longevity and peace of mind, I'm going to be riding the iPhone train for quite a while I reckon.
