Only once I've seen this message; was my 3GS of many years ago when using it as a Satnav for an extended period while touring Pretoria...

I already own a TomTom product, got an invite today after updating to download the new TomTom Go app with a free 3 year licence. Strangely the Go app allows me to download other countries not actually included with my earlier TomTom app.

Now supports world-maps. The 3 year license sucks. Updated mine yesterday.

Beta 7 out . Anyone using hey Siri ?

I saw the beta come out, thinking about trying it......
And yes, I use hey Siri a lot, to identify music and add it to Apple Music, also to call, set reminders, timers, alarm clock. Quite a lot of things, works very well

Does anyone think it's still worth getting an iPhone 6. Wife's upgrade is due in May and I was gonna get the Galaxy S7 for myself since my upgrade is only due December. The contract prices are a bit pricey so thinking about taking the iPhone 6 now and when my upgrade is due in December get the iPhone 7 and give the 6 to my wife.

I'm sure that iPhone 6 is s great device still but having got so used to 3D Touch I would find it hard to go "one level down".

For me it's an "s" or go home/wait.

Besides the 3D Touch ability you got the great deal stronger A9 chip; double the RAM (which makes a diff); better front & rear cam; 4K video; stronger 7000 series aluminum; Live Photos etc...tons of benefits

I understand all that but like I said I will only be using it for 6 months and then give it to my wife when I get the 7. She basically uses her phone for Whatsapp, Facebook and Candy Crush so I don't think missing those features will really affect here and she has never used iOS before always Android.

Beta 7 running really smooth here , what are the chances of the mic getting damaged when you are regularly in a very loud environment as Hey Siri keeps the mic on 24/7

Eish wena...you have an obsession over 3D touch...sure it's a great feature but not the end of the world. Millions of people enjoyed their iPhones already for years, before this feature was introduced...

Anyway, to go to the 6 would be a level down for you perhaps, but not for the OP or his wife...

OP, the 6 in itself would still be a great phone - fast, takes good photos, etc. One really doesn't always has to have the latest and fastest and best specs...I mean, what features/camera quality/RAM/system chip will the 7 or 7S offer one day? But we don't have those specs yet - does that mean the phones we have now (6, 6S) are so bad that we can't do anything efficiently with them? No, of course not...but they will be considered "bad" or "slow" once the 7 and 7S are here one day. Funny how our minds work hey!

So often a lot of features and specs are wasted on people. OP, get the 6, nothing wrong with it, just keep in mind December is 8-9 months away, not 6 months. Vodacom is advertising great deals on the 6 now, "clearance sale" - I suppose the stock on the 6 is becoming less.

Yup, new iPhone announcement in 6 months. You'd silly to buy a 6S now, get a cheaper one now and get the new iPhone when it lands here.

Sure the 6S has better specs, but that doesn't translate into a better experience for day to day stuff either. The majority of people are on a 2 year contract and would have been upgrading from a 5 or 5S, so for them it would seem better. But if you have a new device every year, the changes are more incremental.

But their wife will be using it afterwards. So in that case, a 5s or 6 would be best. To me, the most affordable route is a CPO 5s. But if she would like a bigger screen, then the 6 or 6 Plus is a no-brainer.

I'd go 6s. The s line up are historically significantly better than their predecessors. So 6s-7s-8s would be the preferable upgrade trajectory.

I'm finding my 6s better than my 6 in just about every regard and significantly so.

Would be nice for the OP, but overkill for the wife and her "Whatsapp, Facebook and Candy Crush." :p
