So I have an upgrade due next month and deciding between the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7 Edge. My problem with the Edge is there is no decent tempered glass screen protectors available and I don't want the flat then I might as well go for the iPhone. I know this is dumb but an unbiased opinion as to which device I should choose.

S7 Edge does look good hey...tons of handy tech.

I'm personally an iPhone man...so iPhone 6s Plus for me.

If you can wait till around Oct/Nov for local launch of the iPhone 7 that is a good option as well.

What you currently using?

If you already invested in one or the other I would advise you to stick with it.

Had a Galaxy S2, iPhone 5, Galaxy S5, iPhone 6 Plus and Galaxy S6 which I sold because I wanted a 6s but changed my mind and decided to wait for the S7 Edge. Currently using a M4 Aqua and really miss IOS but looking at both phones the S7 Edge seems to be the better option when considering what you get for your money.

Okay, so you well versed in both ecosystems.

Really 6 of the one half a dozen of the other then.

6s is a beautifully built phone, a lot more durable than the 6. The CPU/GPU, ram and camera lens upgrades are also most welcome! All it's missing now is a jailbreak. But this phone runs like a dream. Just doesn't miss a beat, no lag, no stutter, no crashes, silky smooth, very composed, it consistently runs well within its limits. Really is a beast!

iOS jailbroken > Android...

I think the 6s is likely to retain its value better than the Edge and I reckon it will age a lot better too.

You can't go wrong with either the 6S or the 7 Edge. My only issue with the Samsung phone is just the crap bloatware that Samsung puts on it, that you cannot remove without rooting (disabling still leaves it lingering around).

Yeah, iOS is the reason for the popularity. If iOS was on other branded phones I'd be happy to use them.

Is waiting for the 7 an option?

Might be but I promised my current phone to my wife's youngest brother and he's been counting the days. I have an upgrade due December so might get the 7 then.

Just screen on? No, I've never noticed it, it doesn't even get that warm when on a phone call or browsing on the phone.

I've noticed mine getting warm , not hot since 9.3.1
Running 9.3.2 beta
No change
The rest of the screen is cool.
Only that area that gets warm with the screen on.
Hopefully this is some software bug and not a lcd problem.

I'm on 9.3.1, just checked by keeping the screen on for around 10 minutes. I don't feel any heat build up (with a TSMC chip).

I'm showing 5 hrs 34 minutes usage, 35 hours 36 minutes standby and 55% remaining. Though it does depend on personal usage, I didn't stream any video in this period and don't play games (if you do it might impact on battery far more). I also use push email.

I still see reports from dumb "critics" who comment that 3D Touch has not taken off; not enough Apps supported etc.

It's far easier & quicker for me to compile a list of Apps *not* optimized for 3D Touch yet
