Basically. But that's been known for a while. Leaks have been coming through for a while now regarding the design, specifically case manufacturers who get the schematic of the device in order to start manufacturing cases.

I have no doubt that the OP's claimed phone looks exactly like what has been rumored and leaked. However I seriously doubt that it's the real deal with the real iOS 10 on it. It's simply not possible for the iPhone 7 to already be selling on the market if Apple have not even launched the phone yet.

Unless OP can get his friend to prove via video that he indeed has the iPhone 7 with the About Me section showing. I call BS.
 
Needless to say I won't be doing an upgrade this year.This is clearly another 's' upgrade and I will rather wait another year to see what pans out.

Apple need to take a serious look at the design.The bezel size is starting to stick out like a sore thumb.

I upgrade every year. Yes the design could use a change. I agree that the bezels need to go and hopefully the iPhone 8 will sport a new design, but for now the iPhone 7 will definitely be an improvement over the 6s, so I'll happily give my wife the 6s and get the 7 ;)

The real deal doesn't just magically appear in stores on launch day. There are million of them floating around the place beforehand. Invariably some enterprising characters get hold of them.

More often than not there's a window between announcement and availability. For the 6 it was 10 days.

versus the weeks it takes to ramp up production ahead of launch.

Anyway...I'm inclined to believe OP. He is certainly better connected than anyone else here in this regard.

You are implying that parts manufacturing, phone assembly, packaging manufacturing, product assembly, land transportation from factory to shipping docks, shipping from China to USA across the pacific (either by sea or air), land transportation to Apple warehouses in USA, and finally product supply chain distribution from warehouse to Apple stores, all takes place within an average period of 10 days for the millions of phones that are sold on launch day. DHL must be making a killing every September/October.

Since you mentioned it… apple's distribution chain is best in it's class. For those who buy online their iPhones are shipped directly from the factory by fedex and DHL so yeah those guys make a killing.

The manufacturers are also able to produce in excess of 500,000 units a day.

If I put my speculation cap on I'd think that they go into production as soon as the latest version of iOS hits the gm stage.
 
I believe the OP as he is always in touch with all things Chinese.

So with no headphone jack, how will this work?
