Seen this store called www.iPhonestore.co.za with confirmed stock for each variant and the numbers they have coming 7 Nov

Wary forking out r20k odd to a site I don't know

So that site says

Please note that all handsets are sold off-contract and come with a 1yr Apple international warranty.

Apple says:

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD AND APPLE TV SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/ios-warranty-document-us.html

So, there is no 1yr Apple international warranty for iPhones...

My cousin in the US managed to order himself a X, but he couldn't get a second one for me which he could pick up in store on the 3rd. He's flying to SA on the 5th.
Deal was that he should first try get himself one and once his is secure he should try to get me one as well, but by that time it was already shipping in 3 - 4 weeks.
He was very lucky to get one, his wife also tried to order same time as he did, but she couldn't get one for launch day.

Oh look.

"In my early tests, FaceID worked well indoors: sitting at my desk, standing in our video studio, and waiting to get coffee. You have to look at it head-on, though: if it’s sitting on your desk you have to pick up the phone and look at it, which is a little annoying if you’re used to just putting your finger on the TouchID sensor to check a notification.

You also can’t be too casual about it: I had a lot of problems pulling the iPhone X out of my pocket and having it fail to unlock until Apple clarified that FaceID works best at a distance of 25 to 50 centimeters away from your face, or about 10 to 20 inches. That’s closer than I usually hold my phone when I pull it out of my pocket to check something, which means I had to actively think about holding the iPhone X closer"

They also mention you have to pick up the phone to look at it, which is annoying in meetings. Wonder who said that here a while ago.

It's early days in what is actually a revolutionary technology. Of course there are going to be bugs. Remember when XP launched?

Just noticing something here. Due to space constraints at the top I see no battery percentage indicator.

Here even in low power mode:

So what the iPhone Ex has no battery percentage indicator? That's a huge con for me.

Watching youtube unboxing videos. What an underwhelming phone iPhone X is. It’t the iPhone 8 (which is the 7) with less bezels and no home button running iOS 11 (which sucks).

Apple releases a phone and the most talked about feature is animojis. Seriously. Who buys a phone for that!

Its so underwhelming the reviewers have nothing to show. They just keep swiping down the control center and notification center, scroll through the icons to the right and left, and show how to access multitasking. And then animojis.

Buy for animojis. Less bezels and face i.d. are not a selling point other phones have had that for years.

That’s iPhone X!

Hmm,

FaceID is the big thing. Who else has had this? No-one. Samsung has had something that could unlock with image before yes, but that isn't the same thing at all. It is the same thing as saying look Android phones has had more than 6 cores in its CPU since 2015 when we all know it is also not the same thing. Also all of the other things has all been done with the iPhone 8.
