iPhone 8 & iPhone X Thread

iPhone SE just got a mention as part of the range, I wonder if it will quietly get a slight spec bump?
 
First thing I would do in the hands on area is run a geekbench test on 8/x.... Man, that A11 is a thing of immense power and beauty!!

Yeah, a little under whelmed with the 8. I would have liked a slightly better screen to body ratio. They basically identical. Looks like it's the same panel as the current 7/+.

But we should wait for the spec sheet and side by side comparisons before writing it off... A11 is a massive upgrade!!

Except the 7+ was the most powerful processor in a phone...

Unless you need the portrait lighting and wireless charging (and maybe as a gamer) I really can’t see the reasons to upgrade for everyday use.

Or you just have to have the A11 ;)
 
At least Apple has saved me much $$$, I don’t see the need to upgrade till next year now (or grab an 8+ early next year once the prices stabilise).
 
That top bezel looks more hideous in the light. It looks like an inverted Galaxy S3 design

Yeah, I think that status bar cut out is the most controversial element of the phone. That and perhaps no touch id element at all...

They should black it out or something. It's the thing that bothered me the most during the livestream. It works on the home screen, but watching them play a game and the rest of the screen was filled but not that black area, same with video. It's like watching TV but something black is blocking the top part of the picture.

It should be sorted by the time the iPhone 8s launches. So much hype!

Watch the video above, from around 2:10. Seems one can disable it if the app supports it. But in turn one looses all the screens real estate too.

I want that X, only way I'll be able to afford it is if I sell my MBP and that's not happening.
