And spot on with the 256GB.

Jip, looking at the Huawei Mate 10 Pro at R23K and the Porsche edition at R27K I also thought the X would be that ridiculously high.

Like I've said South Africans are the best customers as they don't complain and just keep paying.

Also we are a much smaller market and once you work VAT into it etc it really is very well priced this time round.

If anything Core seems to be learning and the pricing isn’t crazy at all.

I actually did wish it aligned better, South Africans usually end up getting a raw deal.

Things like the Watch 3 is within 10% of the US price at the moment, once you take into account state tax.

Saffers get raped on tvs and cars.

Not sure how 999 GBP ends up as 20.5K though? Its more like 18.5K which is about 2K more than the US.

999 usd is R14168 at the moment. Ex tax markup in SA is more like 44%.

30% is post tax markup.

Fair enough. The point is there still remains a mark-up in different territories around the world. Some bigger than others

It's a expensive device all around the globe.

As with anything it tends to be a little less expensive if you have a market off 300million potential buyers vs 1million...
