iPhone announcement from Apple on 4 October 2011

The new messaging/notification system and the ability to use the volume buttons to take a photo will be welcome upgrades. Not sure what else is in store that I would care about. (The one time I tried the wifi hotspot feature it failed to work, meh)

About bloody time!

Now the rumours can stop and the iPad 3 rumours can start.

One rumour says it will only launch in 5 countries initially.

How long will we have to wait this time?

Feel sorry for the apple users. Their purchases drop in value in a few months due to new revisions and releases whilst the hardware used is still at least 6 months behind others like Samsung and HTC.

well it is the ''I'' the one with a top noch marketing department and the same hardware if not lesser than the others.

yay! I'm so excited I almost p**'d in my pants!

I am sooooo stoked to hear what they have to say, why would they launch a new iPhone and an upgraded version of the iPhone 4? Who will buy a 4s if they can have a 5?

Also the big thing that no one has mentioned yet is that the release date of IOS 5 should also be announced or even possibly released as fall is in full swing in the USA. Looking forward to the 4th both ways, hope some of the lucky ones invited will at least offer the rest of the world live updates.

Good lord, the cult of mac strikes again...Lol...The extremes some of these folks go to in the name of pure and unadulterated consumerism is kak funny.

You should feel sorry for all phone users then... or except perhaps for Samsung and HTC? The value of their phones don't drop? They don't release new revisions of their handsets?

Well the iPhone 4 is over a year old now and its second hand value still seems to be holding up pretty well. Looking on some of the classified sites it seems to be still commanding a couple of thousand premium over the Samsung Galaxy S (first one) that came out around the same kind of time. Not sure where you get the idea that the value drops any faster than any other phone.

Probably intruducing a cheaper and more competitve version of the iphone4.
